heh, there was speculation in one of the BN postmortems today that Clay Holmes suddenly becoming available after a different deal with the Dbacks fell through might have scuttled a potential Detmers deal. I’m not sure I buy that, I’d vastly rather have Detmers, even if the price was steeper.

I think he was out for a while anyway so this is more procedural plus they needed spots for the new guys anyway, it’s an easy way to preserve depth, but he is throwing so he isn’t all the way shut down
