    174/256…

As with most Sporcles it seems you can skate by just posting some last names to black out several squares at a time, but still missed a bunch on the first go.

    berselius,

I remembered the Brewers switched leagues but completely forgot the Astros did too (dying laughing)

Putting in generic last names like “Martinez” and “Johnson” blacked out a good chunk of the grid for me before I had to really think.

    Rice Cube,

I can’t remember the cutoffs, but from a quick look I think Valbuena and Rondon are the only guys who have a chance of qualifying for that cross.

I did it…the name trick only goes so far, it doesn’t let you duplicate certain names, but this grid should work overall, OBVIOUS SPOILER ALERT

spacing to get spoiler down some

    some more spacing

    look at that spacing

    warning you

    and here we go

I don’t wish any sort of injury upon anyone but Zach Zaidman but back fractures sound particularly awful.

    berselius,

I rarely see/hear him outside of the bombastic postgame show, which is most unfortunate. Cole Wright is just a random baseball lingo generator. So when I am able to watch Marquee I can’t turn the channel fast enough when the game ends, win or lose. Cliff deserves a better platform, so I’m glad he’s getting some in-game airtime.

I’d rather have all JD for the color man seat, but I’d rather see Floyd in when there’s no JD than Girardi or (especially) Sutcliffe.

    Rice Cube,

I did a double take when a writeup of the trade mentioned that the Bears only have 4 picks this year, though I guess one is the most important one. As a packers fan I hope they don’t trade down at 9 (dying laughing).

    berselius,

It’s been kind of sneaky since most of his free agent signings have been snoozers, but Ryan Poles has done a ton of depth signings in a way he never has in previous years. To me, it seems like an acknowledgment that he’s OK with missing out on a high-volume draft haul.

I also have a strong suspicion he’ll be able to deal Fields after the first night of the draft when teams vying for the top shiny new qb toys miss out on their dream prospects. GMs are much more stressed about FOMO during the draft.

What they do with that 9 pick will have a lot to do with what happens 1–8. If there are still any of the top QBs left, someone will give way too much to get their guy at that point.

Random Marquee article today pondering who gets the 9th inning triggered my obscure memory of how in Little Big League, Randy Johnson came in to get the final out but promptly gave up a near walkoff until Ken Griffey Jr. saved the day (dying laughing)

    andcounting,

I’m a little surprised that the bears didn’t go harder for offensive lineman but I guess there aren’t as many available. A packers castoff like Runyan jr getting 3-30 says a lot about the market (dying laughing).

    berselius,

Center (and the inevitable need for backup guards for 10-15 starts/season) was the only significant need on o-line. I think they signed 4 guys destined to serve as OL backups. I’m pretty happy on the OL front. Another edge would be nice, but this is as complete the roster has looked since I can remember.

Seiya, man. I know it’s just spring training, but I’ve got a real good feeling about that dude. Also Bellinger.
