Logan Watkins scored 2 runs on a single and a HBP. No walk today. Donnie Murphy had a big day, going 2-4 with a double and a home run. Ty Wright also had a double, as did Edgar "Who?" Gonzalez. On the Texas side (since Garza is probably maybe going there), prospects that might just come with us Leury Garcia and Mike Olt went 2-3, 2B, BB and 0-3, BB, 3 SO, respectively.
Guillermo Moscoso had another meh outing, allowing 3 in 5 with 3 walks, 5 hits, and 5 K's. Marcus Hatley, Yoanner Negrin, Eduardo Sanchez, and Brian Schlitter each pitched 1 inning and allowed no runs, striking out at least 2 each. The bullpen was dominant: 4 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 10 SO.
Jacksonville Suns 7 @ Tennessee Smokies 6
Javier Baez had a golden sombrero: 0-4, BB, 4 SO. not so good. Matt Szczur went 1-5, and Arismendy Alcantara shared Baez' line minus 3 SO. Justin Bour had a pair of singles, and Rubi Silva had 2 RBIs and a triple. Rafael Lopez hit a home run and walked once, so that's good. The team was 2-13 with RISP. Born ready.
Eric Jokisch had exactly Guillermo Moscoso's line, except he added one strikeout. The big damage was 4 runs allowed by P.J. Francescon, who has been pretty bad all year.
Great Lakes Loons 3 @ Kane County Cougars 2
Quiet bats for the Cougars. Albert Almora went 0-4 with a K. Gioskar Amaya had a triple and a strikeout. Dan Vogelbach went 2-4. He's lost almost 200 points in SLG this year. I'm getting slightly worried I was wrong about him. Giuseppe Papaccio was 0-2, but made up for it with 2 walks and an awesome name. Jeimer Candelario was 0-3 with a walk and his 20th error.
Jose Rosario went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs. He took the loss. Sheldon McDonald gave up a run in 2 innings, and Stephen Perakslis went 2 innings of scoreless pitching.

Berselius, you could try to purge your inactive memory on your MBP. I know that it’s not going to lower the Safari Web Content usage, but it does free up some space. The first time I did it it saved nearly 1 GB of memory. Now I do it about every day and still find it will often purge around 500 MB. Do you have 8 GB of RAM?
I mostly use my MBA at this point and it has only 4 GB of RAM. If I’m doing something that uses a lot of resources, I’ll use my MBP and haven’t had any problems with resources.
The new OSX this fall will supposedly offer significant memory usage improvements.

What do people think of Chisenhall? He’s been rumored to be one of the Cubs demands in a deal with Cleveland. He seems similar to Olt in some top-level ways: good prospect pedigree, poor numbers to start the season, and improved numbers recently (in his case after a demotion instead of a DL stint).

Yeah, I actually looked at the CBA when I was researching another Cuban. The possibility of trading away space once you’ve spent more than your allotment is not forbidden, I’m guessing it didn’t occur to anyone. I use the newsgroups from time to time and always use my Pro for that, but those are large files. It takes about twice as long on the Air and I’m impatient.
The MBA will load a hell of a lot faster than the Pro. It takes 10 to 12 seconds to restart and get you back to the Desktop. 15 to 17 seconds and all your previously open windows are open again. It takes a moment to shut down. Your apps will be available quicker on the MBA, too. The only issue is if you’re doing a lot of stuff. Then you’re better off with the MBP.
My MBA is 4 GB and I’m pretty sure the newer ones are 8 GB so you probably wouldn’t even have much issue. I was thinking about upgrading to it, but my current one is still in such great shape that it’s hard to go spend the money to get a new one.

I find it interesting. College sports have turned into a cash cow for a lot of people. I think it’s an interesting debate whether college athletes should be compensated beyond scholorships, when the entertainment they provide is part of a billion dollar industry.

Outside of that one Bowden tweet, the consensus in the rumor mill (some of this coming from someone everyone seems to respect at Pro Sports Daily) is something like Olt + Ramirez + Edwards + some other position player for Garza and another MLB’er. The guy at Pro Sports Daily is also claiming the Cubs are looking for a third team to make a swap of Olt for a pitching prospect.
