Wow. Just wow. I only got to see snippets of this game, but the end was amazing. Glad I saw that!

Was telling my mom yesterday how much I like watching Morel play.

Wish I was as jacked as he is! (dying laughing)

Morel is giving Willson props for helping him concentrate in big moments.

I remember a couple times last year that Morel would be up, have a terrible cut, and Willson would yell at him from the on deck circle.

Turns out if you play IG on your computer and then later play on your phone with your computer still open, you can get some really low rarity scores. The challenge is knowing, for example, if Ty Waller scores lower than Scipio Spinks for the STL HOU block.

Mariners were already a tough team for me, but combining them with the Braves and Twins was a nightmare.

I was briefly confused because I put King Felix for Mariners-Braves and then was reminded he had signed with ATL before opting out of the 2020 season.

    Perkins,

I got similarly burned by Shane Victorino a week or so ago – he got signed on a minor league deal by the cubs but never made the big league team.

So if you’re Stroman, do you opt out knowing you can get at least 3 years and something like $40MM, or do you use the $21MM option as a sort of pillow contract?

Easy day for me today, and no I didn’t play on two devices. it’s helpful to have some of the oldtimers on hand, like Walter Johnson as MVP.

    Rice Cube,

I think it’s significantly less likely Stroman opts out now. Even with the explanation of an untreated injury, he was unplayable for several weeks before getting shut down and teams may be more cautious if they can’t see how he bounces back.

Watching Dodgers Beers tonight. Seems they moved from the oldest announcer in baseball to maybe the youngest with Joe Davis.

    Rice Cube,

I saw that live. The other guys gave him a ton of crap, but his point was Barnes had a great OPS against Burnes. Funny thing though was the HR was against the reliever.

I’m probably most proud of this speed round. My two rarest guesses were my last two guesses, both former Cubs: Burnitz and Weathers.

Not a single most common answer, though I used Larry Walker and Adam Dunn in squares where they weren’t.

    andcounting,

Upon further review, he hit 3rd more than he hit 2nd, but his combined PAs hitting leadoff/2nd far outnumber his appearances batting 3rd in the order. Man, he had some great seasons. Two 7-WAR seasons at SS, and neither was his MVP season. He and Eric Davis were among my favorites, which is really saying something because I hated the Reds. Those guys were just so damn good.

As a consolation prize, I’m going to see the cubs at Wrigley instead! If anyone else here is gonna be at the Wed Cubs-Brewers day game in a week or so, I’ll buy ya a beer.

    berselius,

Looking at the list for the Cubs, it includes some relief pitchers who were very obviously 1-3 or 2-6 in their careers at the plate (Will Ohman and Brian Schlitter were on there). I feel like it should have a caveat of “at least once qualified for the batting title.”

Jordan Lyles has an ERA north of 6, but the Cubs don’t win on Sundays. This is a real stoppable force/movable object situation.
