It was nice to have a day off and an early-ish game to listen to that the Cubs actually won. Big applause for Jameson Taillon eating seven innings despite the requisite home run balls, bigger praise for Ben Brown coming in to a bad situation and coming oh so close to a NOBLETIGER induced. A 3-3 West Coast trip, especially against those teams, is nothing to sneeze at, and it is fortunate the Cubs have not been swept yet all season and have nipped this short losing streak in the bud going home.
Well I suppose they are all team wins, but plenty of dudes contributed across all three phases of the game (not you, Corbin Martin)

So Reds lose…and it appears the Brewers are too, Pirates making a comeback attempt…
Rice CubeQuote Reply
Don’t want the Dbacks too comfortable before they come to Chicago but the Brewers losing is good, pending the 9th

Bob Minocqua —–> pulled from start due to dead arm?
berseliusQuote Reply
berselius,
possible it’s just the flu or similar but he was barely hitting the mid 80s in the first inning
berseliusQuote Reply
I’ve never seen flu or dead arm cause that severe a drop in velocity. He’s probably missing a ligament or two.

The Cubs this year are the opposite of the Tungsten Arm O’Doyle tweet. Every game is “The Cubs send two players to the IL, which is now bigger than the 40-man roster. Cubs win 12-2.”

Went to charge car today and was surrounded by Waymos, you’d think they would have their own charging facilities like Amazon does so the stations wouldn’t be monopolized. Such an inconvenience to us peasants.

Rice Cube,
There was a stretch at universities where building lobbies were full of electric scooters since they would pay people for charging them. Similarly you’d see pickup trucks out at 4 am collecting all the random scooters people would just leave on curbs etc to return them to central locations. What a business model 😐
berseliusQuote Reply
berselius,
Gig economy is a strange beast, I think all the guys charging the Waymos were similarly employed, like the trucks that pick up dudes outside Home Depot to go to construction sites for the day or whatever.
