    1. Guess they’re setting up for after Thanksgiving, other than the aftermath of the Semien-Nimmo trade there doesn’t seem to be much. The Rockies did decide to bring their interim manager back though!

    2. Between the Cardinals selling, the Reds and Pirates possibly staying mired in marginal mediocrity, and the Brewers potentially looking to keep payroll manageable, it would be extremely disappointing if the Cubs didn’t do something exciting this offseason

    4. andcounting,

That’s usually our go to as well though I usually don’t do it myself. I had some as backup in case I biffed the duck (dying laughing). We started doing it after a friend of ours who lived in Louisiana at the time decided to host Thanksgiving while 8 months pregnant. We ended up making all the sides and she got an entire smoked turkey from a local cajun bbq place. Now we always do the same if there’s a good enough bbq place nearby, it’s such a huge logistical simplifier (dying laughing). Or if there’s just two of us we’ll just get a pound or two of sliced smoked turkey breast.

    9. andcounting,

There’s probably a relevant George Carlin bit about this…saw that if players don’t get five votes in these panels that they basically aren’t eligible for consideration in the future so Bonds and Clemens etc probably won’t get in until they’re long dead and the rules change again

    10. andcounting,

I’m too lazy to look it up comprehensively but I wanna say that at some point Dusty started hitting Bonds 4th because they’d just keep IBBing him with two outs in the first, it did reduce his potential ABs but I guess Bonds had numbers suggesting it didn’t matter…so that would suggest that Kent would hit in front of Bonds and had some protection there πŸ€”
