    BVS,
Thank you for that added level of detail. I dug a little trying to find that information, hit a wall, and gave up.

It was just such an interesting thing for those two guys to have in common yet not at all the same thing.

The beat says Craig says Shota won’t start throwing until end of next week so don’t expect him back until like the end of June at this point

    Random thought:

David Ross, Orioles Manager starting 2026.

Also, wow, didn’t realize my bad Shaw joke would start such a quote-fest.

So I got one of those red bill hats from the New Era retro collection and it is awesome. I’d almost forgotten the Cubs shifted to a lighter shade of royal blue on the caps around the early 2010s. I prefer the old dark royal.

Steve Cishek didn’t pitch 2000 innings, but whatever.

    Rice Cube:
Would make a football joke but I don’t believe there is any way to score just a single point in that sport

Not sure if it’s still a rule in the pros but IIRC you can run back a blocked extra point attempt for one point.

    berselius,

    Rice Cube,

Not if the defense recovers it and retreats back into the end zone they’re defending and gets tackled, runs out of bounds, or commits a penaltyβ€”or if the kicking team recovers it and runs the wrong way and gets tackled (et al) in the end zone.

Basically, if a conversion attempt results in a safety, it’s worth only one point.

    berselius,

I’ll say that in the condensed game Seiya looked very competent in RF so if they are doing this DH rotation I have no problems, other than that PCA still hasn’t had a day off and whoever is backing up CF is going to suck by comparison

    Rice Cube,

A couple times in college ball, but it hasn’t resulted in weird scores because it has just led to teams who just scored touchdowns getting one point through the wildest means possible.

    berselius,

Remembered Some Guys with Julian Tavarez, I could have sworn that he pitched for the Pirates for like a decade and not just one season.
