Home Better Know a Cub Off-Day Shota Appreciation Post

Off-Day Shota Appreciation Post

64

The Cubs turned it way around after the opening shellacking in Philly, winning the second and third game with some offensive onslaughts to make us happy. Also making us happy is Shota Imanaga, who gave up a leadoff homer on a stupid pitch but then settled down for a quality start as the Cubs cruised.

  • Shota apparently had a bunch of whiffs, best since Yu Darvish during the COVID season, so that’s cool.
  • The 11 strikeouts are a career high, and his other starts so far this season have been pretty darned good too.
  • Along with all the strikeouts, Shota hasn’t walked very many batters.

Anyway, here’s a snippet of his start as the Cubs win the series!

Will throw more in the comments later.

  1. (dying laughing), I put the replay of the game on while I worked on some stuff, and I missed that they still rang the bell when Harper homered in the ninth to cut the lead to 9

  2. On a related note, my days of thinking that I’d be happy to never see Luke Little make another pitch for the Cubs are certainly coming to a middle

  5. Weird, no Pat today, but Boog is in the tv booth instead of Alex Cohen. I thought he’d be out every sunday due to ESPN Sunday night baseball on the radio with Doug Glanville.
