Needed a new thread at some point anyway, but winning the first game of the doubleheader with a minimum of bullpen used helped a lot, and so did Dansby Swanson going nuts with the bat. Enjoy.

This is weird
It shouldn’t work but looked like he got the ball off the bat pretty well

We kind of have to resign ourselves to the reality that the Cubs are highly likely to lose this game.

Rice Cube,
I disagree with even her interpretation of “over sliding” to include any loss of contact with the base. The definition states “where the momentum of the slide causes a runner to lose contact with the base,” but temporary loss of contact during the slide is not caused by momentum. The difference between oversliding and going past the base is that “past the base” has to do with whether the loss of contact is enough to constitute progress to the next base, whereas oversliding or overrunning the base involves going beyond the base in any direction whether it’s toward the next base or not.

Rice Cube,
Yeah, I saw Passan point out his FIP is 3.85, and after watching the Mets post errors from every infield position tonight, I’m guessing he’ll welcome the change of scenery/fielding prowess.
