It’s been a bit since we’ve had a new post, so here’s a good excuse after a Cubs win fueled mostly by good pitching and defense (plus a bit of help from the Wrigley winds), before some late fortuitous offense.
Ben Brown did pretty well after Drew Pomeranz opened for him, hopefully he won’t need that crutch forever but if it works, I say go for it:
The sun helped a bit with this Seiya Suzuki “double” and “RBI”:
And then the Reds being lackadaisical gifted the Cubs an insurance run:
Here’s PCA doing madman stuff to save Daniel Palencia some extra pitches:
The Cubs win to even the series, and here’s to a sweep tomorrow.
Comments
Phillies aren’t much use today but then again the Cubs can draw a bit closer in the quest for the top seed…and the Rangers are also being useless today but the Cards can only keep pace now

I predicted 16-11 May in my preview but the Cubs will end the month with a 17-10 record in May, so I guess they banked another win
