Are You Satisfied?

I assume at some point berselius will do a preview for the NLDS matchup, or not, it could go either way, but the Cubs did earn a bus trip up to Milwaukee. Over the course of 2025, we’ve been partially annoyed about a trip to Tokyo, the pissing away of the division (probably more Brewers voodoo but still some Cubs slumpiness), and the myriad wins that became losses (although there were plenty of wins they probably had no business getting too).

At the end of this wild card series, the Cubs did score more than the other team, pitched better overall, and punched their ticket to the next round. The first bit of satisfaction was the clinching of a postseason spot. Now, they get to keep playing, and we see how far they go. But the question remains whether you can be satisfied with a mere trip to the postseason and a wild card win, or if you want more. I can pretty much guarantee the players themselves want more and will do their best to get more. But I only speak for myself when I say the rest of this postseason is house money. Hope everyone is having fun, there are at least three more games left and here’s hoping things continue to go swimmingly for the Cubs.

  1. I’m with you in house money land, RC. My past self from May or so not so much, but I kinda settled on this being a good not great team down the stretch with the hope that weird shit happens in the playoffs.

  2. I was kind of grumbling that the Cubs had to resort to Taillon for yesterday’s start but he had a much better season than I gave him credit for. 3.68 ERA despite having occasional trouble with the HR ball. Not an ace but a cromulent back end of a playoff rotation starter, and did indeed seem to fix his issues vs LHB this year as he worked out the kick change.
