  • A look back at "Major League"

Sports Illustrated has a lengthy interview with the minds behind “Major League,” one of the greatest sports comedies of all time in my humble opinion.  It’s probably worth a half hour of your time to skim through it.  Hopefully Bob Uecker is still kicking around when they finally decide to make a good sequel; Major League II and III never happened.

Bob Uecker (radio announcer Harry Doyle): They told me to do whatever you want. You don’t have to follow the script. They just said, “The Indians are getting their asses kicked every day; have fun with it.” So I did. My stuff was funny.

Yes…yes it was. Long live Uecker.

It was okay…but definitely not as good as the first.

I thought I saw something about a Major League 4, but since Sheen went insane I know the writer or director said there’s no way he’s going to be a part of it. Wouldn’t be the same without Sheen.
