Pike County officials raided a pair of meth labs on Friday night and Saturday morning. Five people from Indiana were arrested when police raided a meth lab. An anonymous tip led police to arrest this woman for making meth. They learned she had bought psuedo 19 times since November of 2010.

These raids have created 3 new markets for Walter White and Jesse Pinkman to explore. There is gold on those streets. They won't be busted because of any psuedo purchases either. That's so old school.

Some woman has been accused of selling her baby for a truck and some meth. We know it wasn't the meth made by Walt and Jesse becasue the image shown in in the article is pink. They manufacture only blue meth. Back in the day Jesse used add some chili powder to his, but those days are gone. Blue meth only.

A Mexican cartel operative from the US was arrested. A US report suggests that Mexico should focus on cops and not the military as they battle the cartel. Apparently this is leading to more violence than necessary and the US, the captain of all things violent, thinks they should tone it down. It's believed the US report was written by Saul Goodman.

The fifth and final season of the best show on tv kicks off tonight at 9 pm central.

Breaking Bad thread on the forum for tonight's episode. Let's try to keep all current season discussion off of the other BB threads so those who haven't seen it can still read those without any spoilers.

I think it says they don’t think Vitters is ready and are looking for a more polished prospect. Even if Vitters has finally figured things out at the plate, he’s still a slow footed player with questionable defense at 3B.

yeah, MO, I think that’s what it means too. It could mean they want to move him to the OF too, but that pretty much makes him useless.

The Phillies do not intend to trade Cliff Lee to create payroll room for Cole Hamels. If they do keep Hamels long-term, they could have $140MM tied up in just eight players going into next season.

    Yikes.

The Santana-Sheets matchup is the free MLB.tv game today. Starts in about 20 minutes.

Nice first inning for Sheets. Velocity was good, some movement on the fastball. Change looks flat, and that good hard curve he throws doesn’t have the snap it used to have, but that big slow curve he throws is still there.

Is trading Demps a good idea if we dont get a significant return? I might want him back next year,

It sounds like a specific 3B prospect is on the list, which means they may just be trying to get the best player possible. At least that’s how I read it.

Ofman is pretty low on the totem pole. I’m not sure how much credence I’d lend to any rumor for which he is the source.

Oh, yeah, the analysis in that piece was nice, but if Ofman even has any sources (and his previous work on The Score suggests that may not be the case) they’re not people who are in the loop, at least as far as the Cubs are concerned. Maybe he has an in with the Dodgers, but I can’t imagine how.

Pretty good pitcher’s duel between Santana and Sheets, although both these lineups suck.

By the time the Cubs are good again, Dempster will be in the throes of age-based decline. There’s no point in keeping him around if they can get something for them that makes them better down the road.

Now Bucknor grants time to the batter as Santana is in mid-windup. Fucking asshole.

CB Bucknor with the RBI. Santana should’ve gotten called third strikes on the batter and the runner that scored. HUMAN ELEMENT!

3-run dong from Freeman. None of this should have happened if Bucknor knew how to do his job.

Also on this crew is Dan Iassogna, who lied in his umpire report about the Milton Bradley incident, so apparently it takes more than falsifying documents and not being able to call a consistent zone.

I mean given that the Cubs are looking at 1-2 more losing seasons and the D’backs looking to maybe move Upton, is it a smart deal to make now? So I’m asking about the strategic aspect of such a trade. And obviously the Cubs would have to send more than Jackson to AZ.

D’backs PBP guy just forgot how many outs there were in the inning. Shockingly, he was not outraged with himself and did not demand that he be fired and/or suspended.

ohhh ok that makes much more sense. honestly i would be very hesitant to give up any prospects at this point, i don’t care who it’s for. trade garza and demp for pitching prospects if possible and then just suck horribly for a few years while the farm system develops.

Not to mention that with the price of a FA win due to increase, and maybe increase dramatically, those few wins would come at a dear price. That’s why I think THoyer don’t want to get into the FA game just yet.

Some mild optimism about public money for Wrigley:

Setting aside the imbroglio over patriarch Joe Ricketts’ abandoned plan to finance an anti-Obama ad campaign earlier this year—a revelation that landed the family in the dog house for a time with City Hall—the owners of the crumbling Friendly Confines may have advantages that other stadium owners lack when it comes to scouting for public funds.

The Wrigley Field rehab is a case that Chicago-based SportsCorp Ltd. President Marc Ganis calls “unlike any other situation in the nation” because of Wrigley’s status as a privately held asset that has a measurable effect on tourism. Even so, any rehab effort would struggle with the city’s inability to quantify the public benefits, and, therefore, how much taxpayer skin should be in the game.
“No other facility is as important an economic engine,” Mr. Ganis says of the 98-year-old stadium’s role in the North Side neighborhood. According to the Cubs, about 30 percent of ticket sales come from outside Chicago.

So far, sources suggest, the most likely plan revolves around the city and Cook County giving back to the team a portion of the 12 percent amusement tax above a minimum guaranteed payment.
That, in theory, places the financial burden on those who get the most use out of the stadium, but it also presents variables like fluctuating ticket prices, which can change at the team’s discretion.

Saying “[o]utside of the HR” when discussing Dunn’s numbers kinda misses the point. Besides, he just had 1 down month (June), which wasn’t all that bad. He has been terrible against southpaws, however.

As bad as Dunn has been vs. LHP, LaHair has been even worse, albeit in far fewer PA:

    Dunn (127 PA): .168/.291/.411 (which is a fucking hilarious line, BTW) 8 HR, 59 K, 18 BB
    LaHair (47 PA): .073/.191/.146, 1 HR, 24 K, 6 BB
