well yeah but would they just keep making up injuries for him if it’s really just the fact that he’s terrible? i don’t see the benefit to this.
Maybe they still want to keep it plausible that he is ahead of Stewart in their plans just to keep Stewart riding the pine when/if Vitters actually plays again.
He’s had a bit of an odd career. I don’t know anything other than his numbers, but he looks like a middling prospect in A-, A+ and downright bad (look at the Ks) first go around at AA. Figured it out this year in AA at age 22. I’d like to see a little more in terms of sample size before I believe him to be a legitimate prospect.

Yeah I honestly have only really been into hockey for about 2 years, but these games really made me appreciate why I like the sport so much all of a sudden.
@ GW:I think its a combination of both. Watch a video of 80s hockey and now and just compare the size of the players alone. Even the amount of padding the goalies wear compared to then.
But it still has finesse players too. Which makes it so interesting.

They made a few rule changes after one of the lockouts to open up the game (got rid of the two-line pass, made enforcing interference in the neutral zone a point of emphasis, etc.) that’s had a lot to do with it. I think there was also a good bit of talent dilution that was related to expansion in the 90s that took a while to recover from as well. In the absence of guys who actually had talent, the reaction was to fill rosters with a bunch of guys who wouldn’t hurt you on defense.
Also, Chicago really sucked for about 15 years and the game was barely on TV. That kind of ruined the game for me, at least.
I have never actually watched a game before, just listened to them on the radio. That was an exciting game. Right up until the last second. Seeing it, I could see more of the strategy involved. You could also see better how brutal the sport is.
