Iowa

5 AB's 4 strikeouts, just another day for Brett Jackson. Vitters was 1-4 with a double and a walk. After a few decent outings from the bullpen Jay Jackson was moved back to the rotation annndddd he sucked, giving up 6 ER in 3 IP.

Smokies

Junior Lake went 2-4 with a walk and has a .397 OBP so far. Loving the newfound patience. Rebel Ridling hit another HR but was seen hanging out with Francescon after the game so now we hate him as well.

Daytona

Spellcheck Jr continues to improve picking up a pair of hits and a walk. His average is now sitting at .265. Its been a good season from him so far and he should be in AA before the season is over. Matt Loosen struck out 8 batters in 6 IP and eternal Cub Ryan Searle worked the 9th for the win.

Peoria

Michael Jensen gave up 2 ER in 5.1 IP while fanning 4. In other news, the end of Larry Suarez might be upon us. Suarez was a big bonus baby from 2006 and was compared to Zambrano at the time but other than being brown the two have nothing in common. Suarez has always sucked and has already been demoted from Daytona. His struggles continued last night and with the AZ instructs about to end you would have to figure somebody like Taylor Scott will get his assignment.

AZ

AZ Phil over at TCR has compiled a list of stats from the guys in instructs.

Doing Well- Shawon Dunston Jr, Javier Baez, Jeimer Candelario, Xavier Bautista, Rob Whitenack,

Struggling- Dan Vogelbach, Rock Shoulders, Mark Malave

Boise is going to be stacked this year. Maples still hasn’t pitched. Looks like a lost year for him

Suarez had more in common with Zambrano than being brown. Suarez is a huge dude. I’m pretty sure the height and weight were the same for these players. Both threw low 90s fastballs when they were signed and they had all kinds of movement. Suarez has had several injuries along the way. Suarez was expected to strikeout his fair share while having average or worse control (like Z). It was Arizona Phil who first made the comparison and it was a pretty good one at the time.

    @ Rice Cube:
It’s funny a 20-year old kid just gives them away but a 50 year old man who sites in the LF bleaches would knock kids over to get to home run balls. (dying laughing)
