What baseball fan or player that lived in the US for any length of time doesn’t know that the Dodgers were once in Brooklyn? Cardenas must be really dumb.

That’s a damned intelligent team there in Houston. Mike Fast is still there, right?

Eh, they only have average intelligence.

And a writer for Goat Riders of the Apocalypse for about 15 minutes before he realized he was much smarter than the rest of us and quickly moved on.

I like to think having Goat Riders on his resume put him over the edge for Houston.

You wrote for GROTA? I used to love that site!

Yeah, I wrote for them from about when it started to around 2009. Remember that article you read that was hilarious and informative? Yeah, I wrote that one.

You wrote a lot of the interesting stuff there. Kurt had his share too, but IMO Rob really hurt that site (still does?).

Thanks. Rob is a nice guy in real life, but I didn’t like his online persona at all. And then Colin would write something with some great stat analysis and Rob would write a rebuttal article against the use of stats. It wasn’t…great. I was really happy to get Colin before some other big site did and Rob proceeded to drive him out. That was about when I started to drift away from the site, I think.

    @ dmick89:

Nah, I pretty much quit writing about the Cubs when I had my first kid and I just stopped caring so much about Cub minutia. My priorities switched around and I just didn’t care, so I started writing short stories and fiction and whatnot. However, I’m getting season tickets this year, so I’m thinking maybe that will rekindle my interest and maybe I’ll want to blog again. Is there still a Cubs’ blogging community? I read this site and Bleacher Nation daily, but there doesn’t seem to be much else out there. Not like there was back in the Hendry days.

    @ Jason:

It will probably pick up again once the Cubs start getting better. I think BN is the only site that’s managed to significantly grow over the past few years, which is great credit to Brett who is doing a great job over there.
