Aside from the Bryant news, the Cubs made a few more transactions. Mike Olt and Neil Ramirez headed to the DL, and the Cubs activated Chris Denorfia from the DL. I don’t think that he’ll get a start this series due to the lack of lefty starters.

Julie wrote a piece for CBS Chicago on the Bryant callup.

The Padres have a few notable injuries coming into this series. Ian Kennedy strained a hamstring in his first start of the season, and Josh Johnson is beginning the long climb back from TJS. Melvin (formerly B.J.) Upton is out for another month or so with a foot injury, though he’s not likely to start in this outfield.
