Purple Revolution is akin to linking something overrated like Ketchup to some thing awesome like seasoned fries. Putting them together makes something amazing just ok when it was so much better with out being smothered in Darwin Barney.
I thought extra innings only gave you the home team’s broadcasters.
If both feeds are on MLB EI, you can watch either one. I think the Cubs must be on WCIU tonight because the Padres broadcast is the only one available. I like listening to the other team’s broadcast as much or more than the Cubs anyway. It’s nice to get a different perspective than the stuff Len and Bob bring up every single game.

These guys remind me of the broadcasters in the 1980s. The play by play did the play by play and that was about it. Now these people talk constantly and sometimes it’s a battle between two of them trying to talk constantly. Hate that.

I think Coleman is more than capable of being in the rotation and the Cubs won’t take him out of the rotation at that point. Coleman has the ceiling of a number 3 starter and looks right now to be a solid number 4. If Wells returns and does as expected, Cashner won’t get in the rotation when he returns.

If McNutt performs as they hope he’ll be in AAA in about a month. I could easily see at that point that Cashner would have no value in the rotation for some time.

If Coleman does well enough in the rotation, I’d trade Cashner.

Simpson getting roughed up again tonight for Peoria. Does Daytona have any position player that has a future in the big leagues? Their best hitter is Jae Hoon Ha has has a sweet little average, but his OBP is the same as his average. He’s a RF with no power and apparently can’t run the bases well either. He is young, but with no power and no speed and no on-base skills, no future either.

The Iowa Cubs remain as interesting as they always are, which is to say not at all interesting.

Batting Byrd 3rd or 7th or whatever is a difference of about a run over a full season. As long as the Cubs don’t start batting the pitcher leadoff, I don’t much care. I’ll use an old cliche in a semi serious way: if the 3, 4, 5 hitters can’t get a run, then fuck, this team sucks. altho they do keep running Byrd out there in the 3 spot.
