I don’t see how this season comes down to anything other than this faceoff from last season resulting in the death of one of them.

It started awhile ago, but holy shit, the intensity of the last few episodes has been unreal. The last 4, 5 or maybe even 6 episodes have been awesome. It’s perhaps the best stretch of episodes in the entire series. There has always been 2 to 3 great ones and then a really good one.

Sepinwall made an interesting point in his review of the episode.

But as Jesse gets deeper into the drug game himself, and more confident and less apologetic about the bad things he has to do to survive, wouldn’t it be awfully interesting to see the two men forced back together with their roles very different from even a few weeks ago? — http://www.hitfix.com/blogs/whats-alan-watching/posts/breaking-bad-salud-down-mexico-way

After I got done watching this episode I was thinking about what possible reason Gus could have at this point to keep Walt alive. There are no reasons. Jesse is more loyal and as good a cook as Walt. He follows orders and is simply a far better employee than Walt has ever been. There’s just no reason to think that at any point in the future that Jesse would be less valuable to the business than Walt. Walt offers literally nothing that Jesse doesn’t offer at this point.

So how on earth does Walt escape this season alive? Does he have to crawl back to Jesse once more? Will he concede the power he’s so obviously given to Jesse? That’s about the only way I see Walt surviving and we know he’s going to. One way or another, Gus or Walt dies at the end of the season. It would be horribly disappointing if that didn’t happen unless something else happens that just blows me away as dave was saying last week.

I also don’t see any way how Gus doesn’t win an emmy next year. As good as Jesse is, Gus has been better this year.

Yeah, this show is fucking great. Like you said, the last couple of episodes have been intense and each episode ends leaving you completely awed at what transpired. I’m curious to see if Skyler admitting to Ted that she gave him the money bites her in the ass.

Walt completely overplayed his hand and any leverage he had is now gone considering he’s no longer in such demand. I agree, I think Gus gets killed by Hank and the DEA. I don’t see how Walt doesn’t make it to the last season.

Like Saul said near the beginning, bad idea giving Ted that money. There’s no way the person who gives it would not tell them if they did not what they wanted. There’s also little chance a guy who owes more than a half million is going to balance his checkbook.

    8. 8 mb21 says:

Yeah, Walt obviously lives since the show is about him, but I just don’t see any point for Gus to not kill him right now. Tyrus would be more than pleased to do it before they even got home.

I agree about Giancarlo. Such a great actor. I don’t know if there has been any bad acting at all in this show. Even the small part people are good actors.

I think they storm the compound and kill Gus and Mike in a shootout. Next season is about Jesse and Walt and whatever direction their relationship goes. I think Jesse ends up killing Walt.

Gus went and got Walt when he had Gale’s 96 percent pure shit. I think Walt lives until someone else can make 99 perecent pure meth.

The scene with Jesse and the cartel’s cook was awesome. I love what Jesse is becoming.

And Gus calmly walking to the “pisser” to vomit the poison was COLD. BLOODED.

I was thinking more about this on my way to work this morning. Walt and Jesse have basically switched places since they first met. At first, it was Walt who was the one keeping shit together and Jesse was the fuck up. Now Walt is the fuck up and Jesse is the one keeping shit together. I just don’t know if Jesse is capable of running a $100 milliion dollar drug business. I see this show ending a couple different ways but I think Jesse will kill Walt and be so ashamed of it that he ends up taking the heat as Heizenberg so Walt’s family doesn’t know it was him.

The real question is: Does Mike live after that shot?

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

    15. 15 Mucker says:

I was wondering that too. Next week episode makes it look like somebody is being dragged to an operating table with blood dripping everywhere. I assumed it was Mike but who knows.

That scene with Jesse and Morris O’Brien from 24 was awesome. Jesse didn’t even flinch. He’s come a long way from the days of kissing drug dealers asses.

When Jesse’s cook went to 96%, I thought that was a bad thing until they all started celebrating. It’s interesting when that happened, I thought Gus played the Cartel by giving them 96% when he still had the guy capable of doing 99%……….but then he killed everyone and took Jesse with him so I was way off (dying laughing)

I’m thinking the cartel just wants somebody close. Why would Gus give up a 96 percenter unless he has a 99 percenter?

      T. Even if you cross the border via plane rather than car, a gunshot victim is still a problem. Even in private planes, don’t international flights have to go through customs and be interviewed by the authorities?

      Just. Awesome.

So there’s your plot twist (dying laughing).

I’m still trying to absorb this episode (watched it last night), but do you think that Jesse was frustrated or stoked when the results of the cook came through? I thought it was the former and was surprised when the cartel reacted so positively.

      I watched this last night.

My first thought once the credits started was how Jesse is in complete control at this point. The cartel is dead. He has a dying Gus and Mike in his car. He’s literally two seconds away from setting both he and Walt free from all of this.

I really wonder what he’s going to do.
