How many episodes are left in this season? After watching this, I’m not so sure that Gus is on his way out. If anything, Walt looks like he’s showing renewed signs of weakness at this point.
That was the 8th episode so there are 5 left.
Walt is now suspicious of Jesse, which could become quite intersting. Based on the previews it sounds like Jesse tells Gus and Mike to go to hell. The question is, does Walt know it or believe it? If not, he’s alone.
The one thing this very good episode told me is that Gus was once very similar to where Walt was a couple seasons ago and that Walt is going to end up being Gus. Basically, Ryno has been saying for some time here that Walt and Jesse end up being Gus and Mike and I think he’s right.
I think the series coming full circle would make sense, especially after that episode. I don’t think that’s what we were supposed to take away from that sequence last night, but it does seem to foreshadow that.
Great episode, though. I was cracking up at Mike’s face when he pulled into the parking lot to see Walt and Hank. Loved the
kafkaesqueGodfather II-esque flashback scene.Also, was Don Eladio Manny from Scarface?
Yes it was, Ryno. Hilarious that he added him in since he’s been saying Walt is going from Mr. Chips to Scarface all along.
Mike’s face was hilarious. Even funnier in that scene was Walt being in the same room with Gus and doing nothing. I do think you were right about Jesse killing Gus. I don’t think Walt has it in him.

What’s weird is that I thought Walt was becoming that guy toward the end of last season.
I did too, which is why I was so certain it would be Walt who killed Gus. By the way, I think Gus just stole Jesse’s emmy.

At this point, I think we’ll say that about the supporting cast member who has a prominent role in an episode last. (dying laughing)

So does that mean that they both make it out of the series alive? Both the marketing and critical analysis of this show flog the hell out of the “actions have consequences” angle. It seems unthinkable to me that Walt’s life choices don’t get him before cancer does.

The scene with Gus in the elevator was outstanding, but if the acting and direction was bad, it would have failed miserably.
This show has really done a good job of using the HD format to its best advantage. You couldn’t have made this show in this way ten years ago without having it look silly on the small-screen format.
Walt is going to die before the show ends. I highly doubt Gilligan takes the cheap way out and uses cancer as what kills him. Do you guys think Jesse also dies?
I’d venture to guess that Jesse dies before Walt, and perhaps someone in Walt’s family goes as well to maximize the punishment for Walt and all that.
A death in the family would rock Walt’s world. It would put a lot of things back into perspective. It would also make him angry enough to just about anything to kill whoever was responsible.
I just have to say that this episode might have been my favorite from beginning to end. There have been better scenes, but this episode was great all the way through.

It still makes me laugh that BB fans didn’t understand that one. How could you be a fan of the show and not get that episode? The average BB fan probably hated the final scene in last week’s episode.

Just got around to watching the last episode and I have to say this episode was really good. There are so many great actors in this show that pretty much anything they write, it will be epic because of the great acting. It was great seeing Gus’ back story. So the question is now, who kills Hank? You’ve got to think he’s a goner, no?
I’m going to rewatch the first 3 seasons. I didn’t even remember the fly episode until reading this thread.

I want to rewatch because I didn’t really “watch” the first 2 seasons. I kind of watched them, did laundry, cleaned house, etc. at the same time and didn’t really enjoy the first 2 seasons.
