What’s with all the doom and gloom around here.

What? Over? Did you guys say it’s”over”? Nothing is over until the Cubs decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

And it ain’t over now. ‘Cause when the goin’ gets tough…

The tough get goin’! Who’s with me?

What the fuck happened to the Obstructed View I used to know? Where’s the spirit? Where’s the guts, huh? This could be the greatest night of our lives, but you’re gonna let it be the worst. “Ooh, we’re afraid to go against Dodgers, we might get shut out again.” Well just kiss my ass from now on! Not me! I’m not gonna take this. Urias, he’s a dead man! Gonzalez, dead! Pederson… Dead! You know I’m right. Psychotic… but absolutely right. The Cubs are gotta take these bastards. Now they could do it with conventional weapons, but that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think they have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody’s part!

And these Cubs are just the guys to do it.

Looked like Gonzalez’s hand was over the plate, not on it before the tag

Precisely. You can see the glove start to deform when it looks like the hand is actually touching the plate.

Ya. I mean it’s not clear exactly when his hand touches the plate and if Contreras touched any part of AGons Jersey before you see his mit change direction when it hits the body.

I would’ve been pissed if Heyward didn’t hit a weak grounder to 1B considering he did that about 350 times in the season.

    RUSSELL!!!!

Assuming we hang on, what’s the likelihood that Dodgers_in_5 blames the umps on tonight?

Of course the umps are in on it. Everybody’s in on it. Kayfabe.

    JonKneeV,

I dunno, I’m not sure he’ll be back (until the next Dodgers win, of course). That’s the great thing about being an anonymous internet troll. You get to show up when things are going well, and when they go south you can just go back to spending all your dough on aftermarket ground effects for your Honda and fucking up the installation.

By the way, did you notice that guy spent like an hour replying to a closed thread last night? (dying laughing)

I changed his screen name to cubs_in_7 a couple days ago, but he didn’t login today except for one comment and deleted whatever he wrote after he saw the name change.

My wife saw that Bryant Express commercial and wondered what the hell a model was doing on a baseball field (dying laughing)

John Lackey: “Are you fucking kidding me?”

No, John. You did your part, but two walks is not a good way to start an inning.

There wasn’t much to like about that half inning. But at least the Dodgers used half their bench.

I feel irrationally better knowing that Utley is out of the game.

Hernandez is usually pretty quick with the ejections, I wonder if the league told the umps to take it easy in the playoffs

I was somewhere without internet for the last 4 hours. Holy Fucking Shit. I’ve come back to the correct reality, right?

Why are announcers always surprised teams (or players) hit worse in losses? Seems kind of obvious to me that would be true.

It’s the step-cousin of the football adage about teams that run the ball 20 or more times winning games.

I can just picture Perkins laughing his ass off at these Joseph A Bank suit commercials.

Their suits are not objectively hot. I’m partial to Hickey Freeman.
