10. Ryan Dempster getting his one out of the evening.
9. Koyie Hill hitting a homerun.
8. Al Yellon and Buster Olney arguing on Twitter over whether Justin Berg hit Justin Upton on purpose.
7. No killer tornadoes hit the stadium.
6. The NFL Draft, NBA playoffs, and Michael Scott’s farewell provided some distraction.
5. A long, lingering shot of a hot soccer mom licking a lollipop.
4. Bob Brenly getting the giggles while discussing a tomahawk throwing contest.
3. Did I mention the hot soccer mom with the lollipop?
2. Long periods of dead air while Len and Bob sampled different hotdogs available at the concession stands.
1. It mercifully ended.

Inning 1 summary:
the chick with the (dying laughing)lypop should be #1 for real
what inning was the (dying laughing)lipop girl? i got like 2 texts about her and now this
My goal is to have the Royal Wedding thread go without comments.
Also, Buster Olney flat-out pwned Yellon.
what inning was the (dying laughing)lipop girl? i got like 2 texts about her and now this
Sixth or so. It was borderline pornographic. (=awesome)
Whoops, maybe sooner. Just after Hill’s homerun, judging by the jokes in the last thread.
It was around the third inning or so. If anyone has it, it needs to be a GIF.
We switched over because I was excited about the Cubbies playing during the Draft. All 5 of us in the room immediately laughed when we saw Justin Berg pitching as well as the score. We then looked up Dempsters ERA. Impressive. I’ve never seen anyone pass the 100 mark before.
Only the Cubbies man.
who is fake jim hendry on twitter?
who is fake jim hendry on twitter?
No clue.
was this chick on the cubs feed or the dbacks?
was this chick on the cubs feed or the dbacks?
WGN, baby. There were also a couple Quade facepalms in the first that could be GIFworthy.
Not to mention the shot of Mark Grace yelling “FUCK YOU!” at somebody in the broadcast booth during Brenly’s story about his days with the D-Backs. Bored producers can make for some interesting viewing.
yep got it. i also got to hear somebody in the cubs dugout call koyie a fucker after his HR bomb
Bubbles cried during the office tonight
I only watched the top of the third inning — seems like most of the top 10 happened then.

Are we going to use the same draft thread today or should I break up the Cubs bullshit here?
So happy they went with Smith over Prince. I wish they could have traded with ATL, though. Fuck!
dj, Smith is Robert Quinn light. He’s a RS-Sophomore who lived in the backfield when healthy. Big, athletic kid with long arms who can play OLB in base and kick in to 3-technique on passing downs. Stock dropped a bit after production dropped off last year, but it was due to injury.
I’m just glad they FINALLY went after a pass rusher. I’m sure they tried to trade down, but it was a bad spot.
Winners…
CLE: For the No. 6 trade alone. For a team with several holes to fill, they pretty much gave themselves that chance with one pick.
STL: I think we’re going to look back on this draft and wonder how Quinn fell to NO. 14.
WAS: Picked up a second rounder for dropping six spots.
NO: Picking up the best RB in the draft and a VERY versatile DE (whom I thought was better suited for a 3-4).
PIT: Absolutely perfect pick for their identity as a team.
Losers…
ATL: I want to say they made a smart move. They obviously think they’re one player away and they went up to get the best (1A, at least). That’s just an awful lot to give up when Jonathan Baldwin went in the spot they occupied before giving up what they did.
DEN: Miller is a great player…for a 3-4. For DEN, he’ll pretty much be Aaron Curry with a little more pass-rush ability. Think SEA wants to do that pick again?
My top 10 left:
1. Da’Quan Bowers – It’s a medical risk, apparently, but it’s one you take in the second round on a kid with his 2010 tape.
2. Colin Kaepernick – I just have a feeling about this kid.
3. Marvin Austin – On talent alone, he’s a top-15 talent.
4. Akeem Ayers – Scheme diverse. He’s Von Miller light.
5. Aaron Williams – A top-15 pick if he declared after his sophomore season. Poor man’s Charles Woodson.
6. Ryan Mallett – The Nuke Laloosh of this draft.
7. Ben Ijalana – Give the kid some angry pills and he would have been selected yesterday.
8. Brandon Harris – Forget his size. Look at the tape.
9. Mikel LeShoure – Comparable to Ingram.
10. Kyle Rudolph – Best TE in a weak class.
Guys I hope SF targets today:
1. Aaron Williams
2. Brandon Harris
3. Colin Kaepernick
4. Andy Dalton
5. Davon House
6. Ricky Stanzi
7. Curtis Brown
8. Curtis Marsh
If we go into Saturday with two guys from that list, I’ll be ecstatic.
I didn’t know you were a cat, Mish.

I understand that Cleveland got a king’s ransom for their pick, but then to trade up to pick that fat kid from Baylor just seemed stupid. That kid would probably have been there at their pick in the 2nd.
Are we going to use the same draft thread today or should I break up the Cubs bullshit here?
Post here. Someone will put up a new thread for Day 2 during the evening I bet. Makes it easier than flipping b/w threads
Also, why am I acting like I run this blog? Shit blog has shit moderators who let asylums run the inmates.

Well, Taylor was the best NT in this year’s draft, but I agree they shouldn’t have traded up for him. He probably wouldn’t have been available at their second rounder, though.
You Bears fans should be happy with the Carimi pick. He’s much more likely to stay at OT than Sherrod.
You Bears fans should be happy with the Carimi pick. He’s much more likely to stay at OT than Sherrod.
From what little I know, yes. Bears tweeps were excited when Carimi appeared to fall to them, though I haven’t cared enough to read up on whatever happened with the supposed Bears/Ravens trade at the end of the round.
Some video of a healthy Aldon Smith

I don’t think they backed out, they some how messed up the trade or something.

And now the Ravens want the Bears to give them a 4th rounder as compensation for screwing them over.
Former SF scout Michael Lombardi called Aldon Smith to SF in February.
I think Walterfootball is an average draft site, but I kind of agree with their grades.

Brandon Harris and Ricky Stanzi would be perfect.
Thank you, Ben Zobrist.
Thank you, Ben Zobrist.
I wish we had smarter players in a smarter organization.
Bubbles is very happy with carimi. Appearently with our proposed trade with bmore they were gping to get our fourth rounder. angelo called the ravrns owner to apologize ravens owner still wants our fourth. We said no. fuck the ravens
They wanted to give up a fourth to move up three spots? There were two OTs on the board. Sounds like BAL saved CHI from doing something retarded like SF did last year.

They must really like Carimi but I keep seeing that he doesn’t project to LT but RT or LG. I was kind of dreaming of a Peppers/Bowers pass rush though. His knees must be fucked.
JG, why would the Niners pass on Quinn to take Smith? Any insight on that?
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/breaking/cbsports-bears-nfl-should-do-right-by-ravens-in-botched-deal-20110429,0,5032493.story
NFLfagets, is this really a thing? Is it the “right thing to do” to send that 4th rounder to Baltimore? Is this a popular opinion amongst NFL circles? I’m inclined to say “fuck them” and move on.
They wanted to give up a fourth to move up three spots? There were two OTs on the board. Sounds like BAL saved CHI from doing something retarded like SF did last year.
Thats what peter king had in his column today. Retarded unless the bairz realllllly like carumi (they did) and reallllllly didnt like sharron collins (the other ot I think) dont know if they didnt like him. I give the bairz pick an A+. But this talk of moving jamarcus webb to LT is frightening
JG, why would the Niners pass on Quinn to take Smith? Any insight on that?
It has to be the brain tumor. Maybe mixed with a little “he missed the whole 2010 season.”
Last year, SF was sitting at 13 hoping for an OT to fall. At 11 (with Anthondy Davis and Bulaga on the board), they panicked and gave DEN a fourth to move up. Fucking stupid.

I say fuck them. Then again its such a black stain on the organization that it might hurt us trading with other teams if other teams think we are a bunch of boneheads. I would give them a 6th as a sign of good faith but not a fourth. I just domt want other teams to say the bairz dont work in good faith fuck them

I agree with the “fuck them”. We fucked up, yeah, but we wouldn’t be getting Garimi if KC or someone else picked him. The trade could have still been done (I think) after the KC pick too.
I’m sure there will be a change in the rules now for how stuff is done.

It will be interesting. If the teams had a verbal agreement, I think CHI should send a pick. Maybe not the fourth, but definitely something.
I think BAL was going to take Jimmy Smith anyway, but CHI is going to look like an asshole if it doesn’t do something.
To be honest, I think CHI scould forfeit a pick for trying to make that trade in the first place.
Chicago Bears doing Chicago Bears things.
I want to know what happened. How do you fuck the trade up? Newsome said that the trade went to the NFL for approval but they didn’t get confirmation in time. Sounds like nobody’s fault to me.
So is the Chris Williams at LT idea definitely done? I don’t understand why the Bears would select another LT just to have him play a different position.
Apparently both sides had to call and confirm and CHI didn’t call in time.
Seems unfortunate. Don’t know if it requires giving up a pick for.
I don’t understand the Redskins. They trade the pick(good), then they select a 4-3 DE for a 3-4 scheme. Why not keep the pick and take Quinn and have him at 3-4 OLB? Quinn and Orakpo would be devastating.

Seems to be a bullshit story looking at the picture. But that’s fucked up if true.
At least we can finally put all this “Andy Dalton in the top of the first” talk to rest. That said, I’m a little nervous about the QB situation and wouldn’t be surprised to see teams jump into the top of the second. CIN, ARI and SF still need QBs…and similar ones at that.
I think CIN takes Kaepernick, ARI takes Mallett and SF takes Dalton.
Did someone put up a picture of the mom? Don’t worry, I did on our site.

What’s the over/under that NE picks at No. 33?

The comparisons I see are Ware and Pierre-Paul. That’s not what I see, though.
I can’t think of a comparable player. Not many players have his size and versatility. He can play anything from 3-4 OLB to 3-technique in the nickel. He’s going to be rushing from everywhere.

One of my best friends mom was quite hot growing up. Had an opportunity to slam her when I was 18 but couldnt pull the trigger.
All you Bears fans should think about how you’d react to another team agreeing to a trade with you and flaking out like CHI did. They either needed to call the league to inform them of the trade or call BAL to tell them they weren’t.
BAL has a right to be pissed.

CHI filed tampering charges against SF for talking to a player CHI re-signed. SF lost a pick and had to switch picks with CHI.
alright JG- I need your thoughts on
Top 3 CB’s left
Devlin as the QB?
NT?
And yes, I realize what CHI did last night wasn’t illegal. The point was that CHI shouldn’t be off the hook just because things worked out.
alright JG- I need your thoughts on

Aaron Williams, Brandon Harris and Curtis Marsh are my favorite three CBs left. If you think Williams is a S, sub Davon House.
Devlin is a 6th for me now. I like (in order) Kaepernick, Dalton, Stanzi, Webber, Yates, Froman, Devlin at this point.
NT: I like Paea (2nd), Ellis (3rd) and Powe/Ian Williams/Fua (4th).
That’s a tough position to be in. Did you at least get some head?
I wish. Sadly bubbles was a good friend
Yea it wasnt nice but its not world ending
I agree. I just think CHI should give up a pick. It will help this blow over (which they should be trying everything to accomplish) and it will help them regain some good faith with the league.
I wish. Sadly bubbles was a good friend
You could’ve been one bad motherfucker.
so does Paea have some game to go with his bench press skills?
And, dj, despite the fact that CB is a bigger need, I think SF should reach on a QB if Kap, Dalton or Stanzi are there at 45.
/Alvin
who are the FA CB’s this year?
so does Paea have some game to go with his bench press skills?
Definitely. He’s not a consistent pass rusher, but he can plug the middle. If we’re running a two-gap 3-4 next season, Paea would be great. I still think Fua’s the guy in the fourth, though.
does Fangio run the two gap? I dont know much about him
who are the FA CB’s this year?
Asumogghahalsdhlhaslhglsdk, Carlos Rogers and Richard Marshall are the most likely available.
So is the Chris Williams at LT idea definitely done? I don’t understand why the Bears would select another LT just to have him play a different position.
No. I think we’ll see Webb remain at RT (even though he’s got the tools for LT, just needs a lot of polishing up on technique) for at least one more season. Williams will remain at RG, and Carimi will get a shot at LT. Webb, Carimi, and Williams all give the Bears a lot of positional flexibility, and that’s a good thing. I see three scenarios, ranked in order of likelihood:
1.) Webb at RT, Carimi at LG, FA/Trade at LT, Garza demoted, Williams remains at RG.
2.) Carimi at LT, Webb at RT, Williams at RG
3.) Webb at LT, Carimi at RT
does Fangio run the two gap? I dont know much about him
Well, Capers (Fangio’s mentor) ran more of a two-gap, but I think Fangio ran more one-gap at Stanford.
A lot of it depends on personnel. Ideally, 3-4 defenses work best when you have a two-gap NT like Wilfork. They also work well with slashers like Ratliff.
I play a little and most of my wife’s job is playing. You have a question?
Well I’m in the market for a new amp and can’t decide on the value of a 6505 or spending big bucks on a Mesa or Marshall. Plus I like the Blackstars too. I’m looking for a combo, no stack, and I want a real thick, warm and heavy tone ala Zakk Wylde, Doug Aldrich, John Sykes.
I don’t think there’s ever been a 3-4 DT like Ratliff. That guy is an incredibly unique player. Love watching him play.
But we ran more of a one-gap last year, so our personnel fits.
In other words, I expect a one-gap 3-4 unless the right people are brought in. That’ll take a couple years, though.
I think I’ll cleanse the thread’s palate with a new addition for MO’s private collection.
I don’t think there’s ever been a 3-4 DT like Ratliff. That guy is an incredibly unique player. Love watching him play.
Not bad for a seventh rounder. I think that’s what SF has in RJF if he can get a little stronger.
You just know Berkamn ended up flat on his fat face after that.
JG, what do you make of 3-4 teams taking 4-3 DE’s yesterday?
No. I think we’ll see Webb remain at RT (even though he’s got the tools for LT, just needs a lot of polishing up on technique) for at least one more season. Why the fuck is everyone obsessed with 3-4 OLBs covering? How often do you see Brian Orakpo running down the seam with a TE? How often do you see Demarcus Ware covering a RB on a wheel route?

How often do you see Demarcus Ware covering a RB on a wheel route?
And how often did you see both those defenses get smoked by route-running TE and RB. Teams are trying to scheme to force those guys into coverage, and they need to at least be able to do it the 2-3 times a game they are called on to do so.
JG, what do you make of 3-4 teams taking 4-3 DE’s yesterday?
There were several questionable scheme fits. Von Miller, Kerrigan, Liuget and Cam Jordan were the most notable, imo. I think that speaks to (A)how many teams are running hybrid units and (B)how often teams work out of the nickel.
I understand that Carimi is a monster run blocker which is great. I hope he can stick at LT. Williams was a fucking waste of a pick and I just hope Carimi isn’t like that.
Yeah, that’s why I could see him debuting at OG. They’ll want to utilize his run-blocking skills immediately while Tice coaches him up on his pass blocking.
Also, I know people here seem to be down on Webb, but I see a bright future for that kid. He’s just got to get his footwork and his lean down, and he’ll be a human wall. The good things is, he’s tall, but he’s a leaner, not a bender. If Tice can coach him up, he and Carimi should make nice bookends on the line for years to come.
And how often did you see both those defenses get smoked by route-running TE and RB. Teams are trying to scheme to force those guys into coverage, and they need to at least be able to do it the 2-3 times a game they are called on to do so.
Yeah, that’s the risk you run when you have 3 DTs and two DEs on the field at once.
For a good 3-4 these days, I think you need to have one OLB that can run (SAM). That’s not what SF drafted in Aldon Smith, plus they have one of the best in the league in Manny Lawson.
Ah. We’re pretty much acoustic only. Sorry.
Same. Sorry Muck.
Lawson is a goner though

But it’s something this rash of 3-4 teams need to keep in mind.
If you’re taking a guy to be a 3-4 OLB in the top 15 picks of the draft, coverage should be the least of your worries.
Can he get to the QB on passing downs? Can he set the edge or get into the back field on running downs? Can he diagnose screens? Is he nice to his parents? Is he jacking off to the proper pornography? Is he a faget? Can he cover?
Lawson is a goner though
Well, they did tender him a contract. It’s still possible he leaves, but he’d be wise to watch some tape before doing so.
Even if he does leave, Haralson can handle the SAM role.
Here’s the point I’m trying to make about Webb: all the shortcomings in his game are things that can be taught. His size, strength, and quickness are all ideal.
JG, how many fbombs did you drop when the espn guys referred to Locker as the anti VY? (dying laughing)
You can scheme around rush linebackers that don’t cover well. Look at PIT.
The bottom line is that you’re going to have a hell of a time finding a guy who played DE in college that can get around NFL tackles and turn his hips to run with guys like Vernon Davis.

…or Budweiser is paying them to distribute the t-shirts. I think it’s much more likely that this is a sponsorship activation that would be happening even if the games were selling out.
The reduction in concession prices may be something different, but folks I work with have been advocating team managers and owners that we know to do stuff like this as a marketing/PR play for the last couple of years because of the recession. I don’t know what the Cubs’ concession deal is, but for a lot of teams, concession sales on a specific item like hot dogs isn’t a big piece of their revenues because most of that money goes back to the food service contractor.
I threw away the latest Sports Business Journal yesterday, but through the 14 home games the Cubs had at the time of publishing, year-over-year attendance was down something like 18%. That’s big, but it’s not as bad as some other teams who depend more on gate revenues than the Cubs do. The trend was showing that paid attendance was rising as the season went on. It doesn’t look good, but it’s not as bad as lots of people were predicting that first AZ series.
The Cubs have only had one game over 90% capacity, and are averaging about 79% of seats sold, if I’m remembering right. By the way, the Yankees are only averaging something like 82%–the weather was awful in NYC for most of April.
I just read the “Payroll Bandits” joke. I really hope whoever came up with that is not allowed to procreate.

Bob Saget had possibly the worst joke in that movie. I can’t believe he was supposed to be the wholesome dad in “Full House.” Talk about bursting one’s bubble.
DBKL, the announced attendance numbers do not match with the number of people who are actually at those games buying concessions. Tons of empty seats at Wrigley.
I’m fully aware of that. One of my points is that concessions, for most teams, are not the source of revenue that one would think because most of that money is going to Aramark, Delaware North, or some other catering company. That said, I don’t know what the Cubs’ specific situation is.
My main point is that these promotions could be seen as savvy business moves, and it’s not necessarily indicative of the Cubs worrying about attendance.

dj, rumor is SF tried to move back into the first. My guess is we’re looking at Aaron Williams or one of the QBs. Don’t be surprised if we package one of our fourths to move up.

I flipped the cushion. Hopefully that will do.
Dowling/Davon House (2nd), Johnny Patrick/Curtis Marsh (3rd) and Rashad Carmichael (4th) are probably the best Cover 2 guys coming up.
I flipped the cushion. Hopefully that will do.
Depends on what you ass-vomited.
With BUF, CIN, ARI and WAS coming up, SF will probably have to move up if they want to get a QB from the next tier.
If they don’t go after one of these guys, I’d take that to mean Alex Smith is coming back. I’m interested to see how he’d handle running a WCO (which might suit him really well) with a real teacher helping him.
Here’s what I submitted to that bud light mock draft thing:
Not too bad. Missed on Mallett and Bowers. Picked the wrong RB for NO.
For the record, I thought SF would trade out of No. 7 for Quinn and DAL out of No. 9 for Smith.

That’s the idea of the joke. It really is fascinating that it traveled so much within the comic community and it never really entered the public consciousness until the movie was made. Even now, the movie language and descriptions are so rough (pretty much like the one I pulled off a website) that not a ton of people are aware of it.
The closest is when Dwight tells his version on The Office. “A family walks in to a talent agency and the talent director asks the father what his act is, and the father says some really raunchy, dirty thing. When the director asks what the act is called, the father says, “The Aristocrats!”

Rotoworld’s round-2 predictions:
45: 49ers: Stephen Paea, defensive tackle, Oregon State – The Niners are implementing a “multiple” defense under new coordinator Vic Fangio. Paea can be an up-field, one-gap interior penetrator in 3-4 sets, and play the nose when San Francisco goes 4-3.
62: Bears: Jerrel Jernigan, wide receiver, Troy – Chicago may struggle to find a “three-technique” replacement for Tommie Harris after passing on Marvin Austin in the first. Jernigan fits the Mike Martz profile as a lithe, fluid route runner who gets quickly in and out of his breaks. He can play the slot and “Z” receiver in Martz’s system.
It would be so Bears to draft slot receiver when every fucking receiver on the team ia already a slot receiver. There’s no possible world in which Angelo does not completely fuck up the rest of this draft.

Smith was a slight reach. I won’t bemoan anyone who wants to call SF a loser with this pick, but…
Giving up the No. 7 pick in the draft for an overrated QB that’s shown nothing but average production in an offense surrounded by playmakers would make it OK?
I hope so. I just can see Angelo feeling like now that he’s given the fanbase what it wanted, he draft whomever he wants.
Other than Austin and Nevis, I don’t see any impact 3-techniques left. CHI should probably try to move up a bit.
I’d like to see Angelo trade up and get Austin. Nevis strike me as Tommie Harris-lite.
Nevis reminds me a lot of Trevor Laws. Slightly unersized good-character guy with a high motor. I think Nevis can be better than Laws, though.
But yeah, Austin’s the best bet.

I don’t know, RC. It would depend on the wording of the contract and I just don’t know. I highly doubt it though.
Dempster isn’t going to be DFA’d though. There’s a better chance that I replace Dempster in the rotation while he takes a leave of absence so he and his family can travel to the moon. (dying laughing)

I also don’t think Dempster would be DFA’ed, but a lot of Cubs fans are calling for his head and I’m just like “come on, he’s been solid the past three seasons.” It is troubling to see him struggle so much and I feel bad for him (I’m sure he feels shitty about it too) but I think I find that kind of negativity towards one of the best pitchers the past few seasons…insulting.
Insulting is putting it a lot nicer than I would have. I think it’s ridiculous. I was going to write something about it, but I knew I needed to take a day or two to think about it before I wrote a reactionary post.
How could we miss that recent reference?
He reprised the role 20 years later on Sanford and Son.
Was that in your lovely post ranking the Jack Benny show seasons?
There wasn’t room for all the great innovations.

I think people probably have a reason to be incredulous and upset, but I thought it was an overreaction…hopefully Z pitches well enough tonight that people don’t call for his head as usual.

This thread is too long and I can’t figure it out.
Incredulous, disappointed and even upset at the performances, but upset at Dempster? This is the same guy who was very good for the last three seasons and the first time he slumps we get this?
What are you guys talking about. This thread is too long and I can’t figure it out.
Dempster.
Here’s some baseball talk to even it out.
That is fucking awesome
Dempster.
I figured out that much, but I thought it was something someone said or did. “insulting, ridiculous”, etc. Or is it just random fans being dicks?
Al’s about to freak because the Cubs are discounting beer in the bleachers. THis should be good.

I think you guys who use Twitter (I don’t) probably saw all the “Dumpster” comments after he lasted only one out last night. On our facebook page people were calling for him to be demoted or shelved. Just general fan overreaction in my opinion, some of which was kind of inflammatory.

$3 beers in the bleachers…so glad I’m going on $1 hot dog day and not drunken bastard day.

I have Gordo’s come to me by text, and then I have an account I check once or twice a week which only follows Carrie, mb21, harry, colin, and the Cubs official. So I don’t see any twitter barrages of pissed off cubs fans
There have been a lot of people in twitter and probably elsewhere throwing insults at Dempster. I don’t get it. I think it’s pathetic, but it’s not like Cubs fans would be the only ones doing it. I just don’t get sports fans. Sam Fuld has a great month and fans go apeshit like he’s the next great player. Dempster has a bad month and fans go nuts thinking he sucks and blah blah blah. I don’t understand it.

It’s even worse because of how good he’s been for this organization. It’s the same thing as Zambrano. It’s the same thing for most fans. It’s just ridiculous.
I just created a BCB name for the sole purpose of commenting on the discounted bleacher beer. I can’t wait for 24 hours to pass.
Is someone going to create another draft thread?
Is someone going to create another draft thread?
I don’t know. You can do it if you want.
I don’t know. You can do it if you want.
Sweet. How?

DJ said it didn’t show up right away. Let me know if it shows up right away for you. Make sure you select Public for Access, Publish to Yes and then click the Unobstructed Views link after you’ve saved it. It should be there, but there may be a bit of a delay for some reason.
Thanks MB. New draft thread for fagets only. http://www.obstructedview.net/unobstructed-views/cubs/draft-thread-for-fagets.html

Did you call it before the game started or after the bases were already loaded?
I mean, cause if it’s the latter, then did you also claim to correctly predict that POTUS was born in Hawaii?
lineup vs RHP Ian Kennedy
fukudome
barney
castro
ramirez
baker
byrd
soriano
soto
z
Pena sitting out vs a RHP now
Eagerly anticipating his response.

Thanks, Mish. I posted something brief about this on Unobstructed Views: http://www.obstructedview.net/unobstructed-views/cubs/carlos-pena-sits-vs-righty.html
Wow. Soriano’s OBP is .258. How is that even possible?
Wow. Soriano’s OBP is .258. How is that even possible?
Does that mean in the last 1000 times someone of Soriano’s exact skill level came to the plate, he reached safely in 258 of them?
Does that mean in the last 1000 times someone of Soriano’s exact skill level came to the plate, he reached safely in 258 of them?
I’d know the answer to that, but my spreadsheet is broken.
I’d know the answer to that, but my spreadsheet is busy not playing the game.
Fixed.

Not funny. Percentages are no laughing matter.

Hey, that’s a pile of electrons you’re talking about.
Hey, that’s a pile of electrons you’re talking about.
Electrons don’t exist. Prove me wrong.
Who can talk of electrons in these exponential times? Knock it off.

Shut me right up.
Who can talk of electrons in these exponential times? Knock it off.
Fermi and Dirac agree.
Who can talk of electrons in these exponential times? Knock it off.
I suppose the famous German philosopher Kurt, who I learned about in the last batch of papers.
I’m going to step in to valence the conversation a little.
