Iowa
PPD
Not worth a summary. Worst team EVER.
F7 Jr went 2-4 and continues to raise his batting average. He is putting together a decent season so far. The Cubs decided to try Hayden Simpson out of the pen today but it didn't work. Simpson went 1.2 IP walked 3 guys and gave up 2 ER. He did get 2 k's. Zach Cates continues to really struggle which is a shame because there was some reason to think he could take a step forward this year.
Ben Wells! returned to the rotation and had a decent start working 5.1 scoreless innings while striking out 3. His sinker was really working getting 10 groundouts to 2 fly outs. Really like this kid and think he has a decent shot at a MLB rotation.

Man, the fans sure support the Royals.
@ Akabari:
On the bright side, Heath Bell makes him look like Mariano Rivera.
Go here and hover over Soriano’s name in the lineup. Lulz.

Guess no more silly trophy cup.
@ Rice Cube:
That’s not too surprising, since the league changes are going to result in a balanced interleague schedule anyway.
@ Berselius:
I would prefer said balanced schedule.
@ Rice Cube:
(dying laughing) they should try out for the Boise Cubs.

The Tigers are last.
Cubs:
WAR Winning Percentage: .402; Current Winning Percentage: .364; WAR Wins: 9; Current Wins: 8
What is this I don’t even (dying laughing)
Any system where the Cubs move up 2 and the Tigers fall 14 is just….Christ.

I hope there’s a 1-900-OKFACE ad
TOOTBLAN
@ Akabari:
Do you want to be like the UN, or just squabble and waste time?
@ Berselius:
Stupid aggressiveness on the basepaths is the other end of managerial idiocy spectrum from not wanting to clog the bases by walking.
@Mercurial Outfielder
Yes sir, you American pig!
@ Akabari:
Is that some sort of plush novelty?
@Mercurial Outfielder
Its cold and hurty!
@GBTS
The more I read those power ranking entries the angrier I get
FWIW, DeJesus was safe.
@ Akabari:
Hurty is a perfectly cromulent word.
Volstad’s shitty luck continues
@ Aisle424:
We’ll have to wait 4-5 business days (holidays not included) until MLB posts the highlight clip to be sure.

4 ground balls, no outs. Cub’d.
Cubs lose.
At least that last groundball single was hit hard
Worely went all breaking balls to LaHair, all on the inner third.
So fucking predictable that Soriano swings at that garbage.
@ GBTS:
At least we’re not the Tigers!
@ Akabari:
I need to go brag to some Tigers fans how much better this team is
@ Mercurial Outfielder:
That wasn’t stupid at all. It would have taken a perfect throw to get him out (or a good throw and a bad call, as was the case).
The Cubs made my dilemma (watch the Cubs or Yu Darvish) pretty easy today.
Holy damn, Yu is awesome at missing bats.
Dammit Geo…gotta figure this shit out, man.
@ ACT:
I was more speaking about the strategy rather than this particular instance.
Kemp —> 12 HR
Wheaties!
And now the calls for Soto’s head rain down harder.
Not that he doesn’t deserve some scorn…what a slump.
@ Rice Cube:
How dare he suck in an even-numbered year!
@ ACT:
He’s sucking as much as the tenth Star Trek movie.
Campana –> fast
I imagine the Cubs twitterverse is a dark and forbidding place for Soto right now.
Tony Campana can flat-out fly.
@ Mercurial Outfielder:
…and Facebook.
Wonder if it does get so bad that he just gets released. I can’t imagine they’d ever do that, but it’s in the back of the mind.
Cubs non-lose.
LABOMB!!
@ Rice Cube:
I think there’s almost no chance that happens. They’ll trade him first. There’s some manager is whispering in his GM’s ear that Soto can be fixed.
LaHair is strong.
Pat sounded shocked on that homerun call. Like he was watching Seinfeld or something.
@ Rice Cube:
Soto could keep hitting in the low to mid 200s and still have a decent chunk of trade value at midseason.
LaHair is hotter than fresh shit.
@ Berselius:
Exactly. There’s simply no sense in dumping him.
@ Mercurial Outfielder:
I’ll take your word for it?
@ Mercurial Outfielder:
That’s what I think as well, as long as the angry mob doesn’t kill him first.
I think Soto will go on a run here. I’ve been wrong before, but I think he’ll heat up again.
@ GBTS:
You can get a good look at a t-bone by sticking your head up a bull’s ass, but I’d rather take the butcher’s word for it.
Dolis dropped clown shoes on Rollins with that sinker
@ Mercurial Outfielder:

Tommy Boy… *guffaw*
@ Mercurial Outfielder:
BEES! BEES EVERYWHERE! YOUR FIREARMS ARE USELESS!!
Ruh roh…
Dolis —> oops
@ Mercurial Outfielder:
You can get a good look at your butcher’s ass if you stick your head up there, but wouldn’t you rather take his word for it? No wait, you can get a look at your BUTCHER’S ass . . . no, it’s gotta be YOUR bull . . .
I feel okay about the Cubs splitting this series. That seemed very unlikely coming in.
According to gameday, every single one of those pitches were strikes.
@ GBTS:
Richard, what’s happening?!?!
David Ortiz seems to have forgotten his yearly tradition of starting slowly.
Papelbon vs. Campana ::
vs.
@ ACT:
Maybe he found a new religion. If so, he should try converting Mark Teixeira.
@ ACT:
Bob Brenly told him it doesn’t count right now.
@ Mercurial Outfielder:
I love how Tony took a fastball for a strike on an 0-2 count.
@ ACT:
And Geo Soto
@ ACT:
Lulzy, indeed.
@ Mercurial Outfielder:
And Aramis.
@ Mercurial Outfielder:
He could also do a posthumous baptism on Ryne Sandberg’s career.
New shit
