Matt Garza left tonight's game after 3 innings with a forearm injury. It's probably not serious, but here are some other players who have had not so serious forearm injuries: Kerry Wood, Randy Wells and Angel Guzman.

not watching the game- was his velocity ok?
@ dylanj:
Not sure, but I think it was a hell of a lot better than Germano’s.
@ dylanj:
it was up
Is this where the conversation goes now?
@ Rice Cube:
would you ask berselius that question?
@ GW:
Perhaps I would, but since you’re here (dying laughing)
cramping in his right bicep, x-rays negative according to len
@ Rice Cube:
sure, why not?
Triceps cramping is official word.
@ GW:
@ Rice Cube:
We’ll just assume that there’s something crampy in the arm area then
@ Rice Cube:
you’re right, i misheard.
cramping in right triceps, x-ray, day to day. Aren’t we all day to day?
@ Rice Cube:
I’m way too slow. (dying laughing)

He hit 97.
Nice play by Valbuena. A couple nice plays this inning by him.
James Russell is having a bad night.
@ mb21:
He’s a good little ballplayer.
this game got out of hand in a hurry.
Russell’s ERA jumped up more than a run.
Dolis struck someone out! And he still reached base!
Strangely, that inning was very fun bad.
(dying laughing)
Pitching change. 12-run lead. Unreal.
I love Dolis’ line so far: 0.1 IP, 1 ER, 2 K. Crazy.
This is a nailbiter
Z’s ERA went up for the 8th straight time. His numbers are looking a lot like last year’s (with worse control). All that fluff about his being rejuvenated by a change of scenery was premature.
What in the fucking fuck happened?
Leave for 30 fucking minutes. 12 fucking runs? Holy fucking fuckstorm.
@ Rizzo the Rat:
not good, though better than volstad.
Cards scored more runs in one inning than any other team has (today) in an entire game.
@ GW:
True, though their peripherals are similar (Volstad actually has a better FIP). Their ZiPS projections are similar, too.
@ Rizzo the Rat:
Arizona just tied them, but it took them 8 innings to do what the Cards did in one.
Barry Larkin had a lot of damn good years, no?
Happy 33rd b’day to everyone born on July 22nd, eastern time.
But those guys were forearm, and Garza’s is upper arm, where there are more big muscles. I take this as a good sign. Then again, I thought Soto was going to have a bounceback year, so grain of salt.
