Do any of you really care how Alfredo Amezaga is doing? I don't.
Junior Lake went 2-4 with a double. Nobody else did shit.

Peoria played a 14 inning shit fest that was highlighted by Yao Ling Wang's continuing dominance on the mound. Last night Wang struck out 10 batters over 6 IP allowing only a solo HR. Wang now has 68 K's in 57.1 IP and is holding opponents to a .218 BA. He is now our top pitching prospect imho.
Gioskar Amaya can do it all. Last night he stole home for his 11th steal of the year in addition to going 1-3 with a BB. On the power side Dan Vogelbach hit his 3rd HR in as many days and in my opinion should be a top 100 prospect heading into next year. If you are a bat only 1B you have to really hit to matter and Vogelbach has certainly done that as he has 11 HR's in 157 pro AB's. Rock Shoulders hit a grand slam out of the entire stadium last night which is also cool.
Dillon Maples struck out 3 batters in 2 scoreless innings of work. According to every AZ players twitter account Albert Almora made the greatest over the shoulder catch EVER! And Jorge Soler is getting talk of a call up despite hitting .241.

Agreed that Vogelbach should be a top 100 next year. The guy can hit. Fielding is a huge question mark, but it was for Prince Fielder too and it didn’t keep him out. I’m not saying this guy is Prince Fielder, but he just might be Prince Fielder. (dying laughing)
@ mb21:
I saw a few folks refer to him as “White Prince Fielder” around when he was drafted.
@ Rice Cube:
Yeah, he’s going to be compared to him throughout his career. It’s unreasonable to expect him to be as good as Fielder has become, but the guy can fucking hit baseballs really really well. He’ll have to keep doing it and if there’s anything that will keep him out of the top 100 it’s that he’s still only at Boise.
Fielder was a level higher at the same age and was more highly rated entering the draft and entering that season. Still, I think we’ll see Vogelbach in the top 100
Most importantly, what is Vogelbach’s AVG and R+RBI?
@ WaLi:
We should multiply R+RBI by AVG, I think.
Soler ——> Peoria
@ Mish:
Divide it all by the square root of the OPS.
you sure can make a case for Amaya as well. Not alot of 19 year old MI’s with an OPS over .900
@ Aisle424:
Weird. He hasn’t really hit all that well in AZL and he’s skipping a level? Above average wRC+ though. Solid walk rate, but a rather high strikeout rate for someone who is 20 years old in the AZL. Power OK, but not impressive. Why not send him to Boise?
@ dylanj:
I think both you and I are very high on Amaya and looking back on our prospect rankings I’m thinking he probably deserved a little higher. Oh well, we’ll do it again this offseason. It’s also nice to see Szczur starting to hit after slumping when he got to AA.
must be a case where the scouts like what they are seeing more that the results are showing
its hard to find something not to like about that kid so far.
@ dylanj:
I’m liking Soler’s discipline so far. It’s better than I thought it would be. Actually, he’s performed better than I expected, but probably not as well as the Cubs were expecting considering the level he’s at and the money they spent. It will be interesting to see how he performs in Peoria. Based on the numbers, which is of course a small part at this point, I won’t be surprised if he struggles.
AZ Phil on the catch Almora made
@ dylanj:

Anyone wanna ride to Burlington with me tomorrow night to see Soler?

This kid has a sweet ride.
On an unrelated note, its fucking bullshit they made the Expendables 2 PG13 so suck ass Chuck Norris could be in it. That joke died like 20 years ago.
On a related note, this Amaya guys definitely does seem like someone to watch for. Has anyone really said anything about him?
I’m concerned that becasue I didn’t see The Expendables when it came out that I won’t be able to keep up with the plot of The Expendables 2.

@ Edwin:
The plot is: action movie stars you remember from childhood appear on screen to show off their horrible plastic surgery. Explosion.
@ josh:
So pretty much the 7th inning stretch at Wrigley, except with more gunfire.
I think if you just hook up your old Nintendo and play Contra you’ll get the gist of the plot.
@ josh:
I was just excited that they were disguised as ornithologists.
@ AB:
I …uh….
I should note that I never actually saw the movie.

@ GW:
I didn’t know they actually enforced that.
@ Rice Cube:
THERE’S A LOT OF THINGS YOU DON’T KNOW!
I’m assuming.
I haven’t slept in a week.
@ GW:
That’s hilarious
@ josh:
My lack of knowledge is boundless.
@ Rice Cube:
So long as I can access wikipedia, I know everything about everything.
@ Rice Cube:
Bill: “The only true knowledge consists of knowing that you know nothing.”
Ted: That’s us, dude!
Bill: Yeah!
@ josh:
I didn’t even know there was The Expendables until I saw ads for The Expendables 2. (dying laughing)

Me either. I was blissfully unaware.
@ mb21:
I have a friend who couldn’t stop talking about it for like two weeks. He also made me watch Rambo 8 or whatever, which was really atrocious.
@ Aisle424:
It was surprising because there were so many names in it I remember, but not once did I hear about it. I was glad.
@ josh:
Rambo 8 was pretty bad, but Rambo 10, part 2 was top notch.
@ mb21:
Yeah, I remember being shocked it existed. It must have been so blah that nobody even bothered making fun of it. At least with movies like Gigli, you’re aware of them because of how fucking awful they are.
If you go into the Expendables with no expectations but with a preference for mindless violence, then it’s not actually that bad.

False. I was the inspiration.

@ Berselius:
Why are they all on sale? I’ll have to look through and see what they have.
Can someone tell me why Yao-Lin Wang was pitching in relief until a month ago? He started his entire career and had very good numbers so the Cubs put him in relief? That makes no sense. None.
So what are we going to do when Vogelbach and Rizzo are both churning out 50+ homer seasons starting next year?

I pronounced this as Yellon Wang in my head, so I barfed.

So the Bears are like preseason right? I didn’t miss a second of horrible, crushing defeats, did I?
@ Berselius:
Both Campana and Rizzo had cancer??
