    Iowa

Brett Jackson was 2-5 with a 2B and a 3B. He also stole his 17th base and struck out. Vitters was 3-6 and I think by the end of this year will be major league ready.  His OPS now sits at .860.

    Smokies

    Nobody did anything.

    Daytona

Spellcheck Jr went 1-3 with a double and a walk. He also had an OF assist. The Greg of Rohan was promoted to AA.

    Peoria

Taiwan Easterling went 3-3 and is hitting .240. Baez went 1-3 and is now batting .299.

    Boise

Jeimer Candelario went 2-5 and is hitting .344. Dong Yub Kim hit his 3rd HR of the year and Chadd Krist stayed hot going 3-3. James Pugliese struck out 5 in 4 shutout innings. 2012 draft pick Eddie Orozco struck out 2 in 2 IP.

    AZL Cubs

Dan Vogelbach might be a bit too good for rookie ball. Last night he went 4-5 with a HR and a triple. That's right MO, a triple. Right now 10 of his 16 hits are XBH and he is sporting a .471/.514/.824 line. Rock Shoulders isn't tearing up the club in Boise so maybe a switch-a-roo is in the works.

Now throw him a changeup and see what happens.

Interesting, for a few of the non-Cuban guys teams seemed to have waited until after the CBA deadline in order to get the signing bonuses under the $2.9MM limit. It’s an obvious choice to make but it’s just funny to see all of them happen at once.

This is different then signing defective Cubans, defected, infected, shit, former Cubans of the get me the hell out of here persuasion that are talented enough to have someone help them do just that for a cut of their future deal, not slave trading-ish in the least.
These are 16 year old internationals that could not be signed before today.

Oh, the international signing date was always July 2? I have learned something new today. Cool.

This is why it’s good. It creates a wonderful image to illustrate the obtuse acronym. I was thinking Safe on the Basepaths Like a Genius, but RC’s version is much better.

Indeed, and honestly, we’ve faced lefties seemingly every other day, of whom he has very randomly been played against. I can’t imagine it’s easy for a guy to have such irregular at bats and hit well. He’s not a .980OPS guy, but it doesn’t mean he can’t be a streaky .850 type guy.

Hey, I used to be good. And this is crazy. But here’s my number. So retirement, maybe.
