And the best might be the guy they got in the Greinke trade, Jake Odorizzi who is a righty. They have about 7 guys that look to be #2 or #3 starters in the majors. Yes, Duffy is here and will likely hang around and take the rookie bumps this season, but will probably be the only young promising starter KC calls up this year.
Yeah, if they spend a little money after they get good like the Rays did, they could run off multiple division championships and be a force in the playoffs. I can’t wait.

Understandable. I think if they do the one interleague series per trip though, there are ways to balance it out better. Cramming interleague into one month makes it hard to achieve balance.

I meant if they just had interleague as a full-season thing, not just crammed into one month.
Let’s say you two 3-game series each week in interleague play, which would be required with 15-team leagues. In ll reality, it’s probably an average of about 6.25 games per week, but we’ll use 6. The MLB season is 26 weeks long. That’s 156 interleague games, which is actually fewer than there are now so I’m all for it.

It’s going to be like the mid 90s. I’m sure 424 can talk more about it, but I remember going to some a few weekend series in the early to mid 90s in September and there was nobody there.
I really do wonder what actually attendance is so far. Paid attendance is about 34,000 per game, but I doubt actual attendance is 25,000 per game. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s closer to 20,000.

Twelve years ago, the Mavericks played in a dump of an arena and 98 percent of the people in Dallas couldn’t name more than two players on the team.
Now, the DFW area becomes a Mavs town pretty much as soon as NFL season ends.
Mark Cuban basically took the Washington Natinals and made them into the SF Giants within a few years.

So when he won Dancing With the Stars, did he donate that to charity? I forgot if he won or not but I heard he did okay.
I figure if you as an owner put yourself out there in that way, you cause people who don’t know you to google what you do, and then those people find out about your product (lots of playoffs, decent team, new NBA champions) and that’s pretty much another form of advertising. I don’t see anything wrong with that at all.
It’s really too bad he didn’t buy the Cubs, but I’m glad he was smart enough not to get into a bad deal.

Candidate A has a history of turning shit into gold, including a moribund franchise in a top-5 media market. He is likely one of the most overtly competitive owners in major sports, yet will set aside his ego and hire people he knows are more experienced in sports management than he.
Candidate B likes the team on sale. Met his wife at a game or some shit.
