.346 wOBA for Carroll? He’s at .318 on the year and projected to .305
Also Russell —–> back to the bullpen
I had that same problem with Carroll last night and fixed it. Then it did it again today. He’s the only player I’ve seen that happen with. I have him at .306 and that reduces the Dodgers total score by .1 run and improves the Cubs odds to 38.9%. Fuck yeah! (dying laughing)
Also Russell —–> back to the bullpen
But he was doing so well.
For ZiPS rest of season FIP I calculate it myself using a constant of 3.15 so it probably doesn’t match what Fangraphs has.

2 outs to go for liriano
What the hell happened to the Cubs hitters of 2008 with respect to taking pitches? Who, in this day and age of baseball, can possibly think that their extreme aggressiveness in swinging the bats at anything that moves is a good idea?
2k, 6bb
1 out to go for liriano
The forest gif would be better.
only 2 k for liriano so far… Thats hard to do with a no hitter
Can’t believe he was at 101 pitches going into the 9th with 5 walks

What the fuck is wrong with dempster?
liriano======> no hitter
Is that like when the pitcher doesn’t allow any hits?
I turned on Comcast to hear Hawk call the end of the Twins no hitter vs the Sox. I wanted to hear the pain and disappointment in his voice but he was off tonight. Damn. A Mike Huff was doing pbp but the massive ego of the FPM jumped in and called the last out. Stone is sick and his voice sounds awful but he had to call it, what a dick.
The pitching coach needs to go out there with his smart phone and show Demp the video of Lou yelling “THROW FUCKING STRIKES” at him.

If you swing at every pitch, you’re not likely to go down looking – more likely to hit a weak, shitty chopper in the infield. Seems like every other AB results in one of those.

The average age of the Spiders pitchers in 1890 was 22.9. That’s crazy.
Wasn’t that their final season?
Correct.
Aftermath
The Robisons’ decision to essentially reduce the Spiders to minor league standards, along with other intra-league raiding such as that conducted by the Dodgers, unwittingly helped pave the way to the National League’s loss of its major league monopoly. The 12th-place Spiders were one of four teams contracted out of the National League at the end of the 1899 season. The others were the 11th-place Senators, the ninth-place Louisville Colonels and, surprisingly, the fourth-place Baltimore Orioles.
The Robisons sold the assets of the Spiders team to Charles Somers and John Kilfoyle in 1900.[2] In 1900, the then-minor Western League fielded a team called the Cleveland Lake Shores, and in 1901, after renaming itself the American League, the team became a new Cleveland Blues team, and eventually the Cleveland Indians.
Darwin Barney now has a better average than Starlin Castro.
Only a matter of time until that reaches the Playgirl Mansion and marching orders are given to Hobbiton and the Man-O-Lantern.

I can’t help but still like Miles a little bit because of that. (dying laughing)
Just because it’s still cracking me up

Was it a pop-gun wielded by a Leprechaun?
That was a riveting ginger vs ginger battle if I ever saw one

We couldn’t do it without you, Buntman.
Wow, Demp struck out the side after only 2 Ks in his first 6 innings
Demp’s presumably final line
7 I, 6 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 5 K
Why is Reed Johnson on my TV?

Bob Brenly is very disappointed in Reed Johnson.
TOOTBLAN number dos
TOOTBLAN out of scoring position with Castro coming up. See what fucking happens.
(dying laughing)
I need to find whatever feed you’re watching (dying laughing)
Fucking bunts. This offense giving away outs is like Haiti asking Japan for aid money.
MO should throw a buntarang at Quade.
Nice play by Barney.
MO should throw a buntarang at Quade.
My buntarang:
^ It just might work.
It seems like we always have to have an extra inning game or two on any west coast road trip
I bet Jonathan Broxton smells like sweaty ass all the time.
Broxton’s getting squeezed, no?
Byrd walked.
I think someone divided by zero.
Broxton’s getting squeezed, no?
No sir, that was a bonafide walk.
HOLY SHIT, HIDE YO WIFE, HIDE YO KIDS! MARLON BYRD TOOK A 4-PITCH WALK
HOLY SHIT, HIDE YO WIFE, HIDE YO KIDS! MARLON BYRD TOOK A 4-PITCH WALK
That, MO, is The Beauty Of Short Hops
Those pitches were so bad that Byrd had no choice (dying laughing)
Broxton has completely lost the plate now. This is some Mitch Williams shit. (dying laughing)
Broxton shouldn’t have had that third can of Dinty Moore beef stew before leaving the bullpen.
Broxton shouldn’t have had that third can of Dinty Moore beef stew before leaving the bullpen.
He popped a few Vienna sausages in those too
that was fucking absurd
Did Broxton balk or am I thinking of this wrong? He came set, got ready to pitch, lifted his leg and then stepped off.
Why no balk?
i feel like this half inning has been going on for 30 minutes. he was about a minute between every pitch
Did Broxton balk or am I thinking of this wrong? He came set, got ready to pitch, lifted his leg and then stepped off.
I thought you could lift your leg so long as it didn’t come down in a 45 degree cone facing the plate. Maybe that’s only true if Venus is in the 8th house though
Just discovered the Dodgers feed on MLBN. Scully sounds rough, but it’s still an improvement…
Any bets on whether Marmol one-ups Broxton (if he gets the call)?
Shit, this one throws strikes.
i feel like this half inning has been going on for 30 minutes. he was about a minute between every pitch
Broxton is a combo of Mitch Williams, Steve Trachsel, and El Guapo
Broxton is a combo of Mitch Williams, Steve Trachsel, and El Guapo
He did throw a plethora of pitches.
I still think he balked. He took enough of a pause and neither threw to a base nor towards home plate.
i mean he is just not the same pitcher.. 300 pounds… Jesus….
FUCK YES
GEO!
GEO!!!
How is he not on third??? Lazy latin
Hell yeah Geo!
ooooooohhh a blake dewitt sighting
DeWitt instead of Colvin. Interesting.
Geo!
SOTO! Best 8 hitter in the league? (dying laughing)
dewitts alright at this pinch hitting thing…
Dont know why loney cut that off
DeWitt is making the most of his one AB for the week
DeWitt! Nice to see someone else suffer from a failpen. (dying laughing)
Poor Kosuke.
I forgot Dewitt was on the team. (dying laughing)
slider time
Flail.
Juan Uribe has a worse swing than Ted Lilly.
Loney sucks too while we are at it. I wouldnt be surprised f he was nontendered
Cubs don’t lose.
Are we still stuck with Kool-Aid Man?

WINS!!!!
BDC====> Finally out
Pretty great night of baseball – Cubs win, Rays walkoff, and I got to watch a no-hitter (a relatively unimpressive one, but still). It’s likely all down hill from here.

Yeah, it’s impressive that Gehrig posted a record that hasn’t been broken for 70 years. But it’s not impressive at all that A-Rod is the only player in 70 years good enough to break it.

It that like being unable to read or write?
I checked this site out on I/E 7 and it worked fine for me. I don’t know what problem bubs is having, but I don’t think it’s the site. There’s no reason it would work with Firefox or other browsers and not with I/E 7. I might understand if someone say I/E 6. That browser is ancient and retarded. 7 is ancient and less retarded.
I don’t know what problem bubs is having
I think his main problem is that there’s a grown man who is NOT Wolverine calling him “bubs.”
What makes you think I’m not Wolverine?
Have you not seen The Wire?

Woah! I thought Rendon was the consensus top pick…
is he hurt or something? OK, he is hurt…just read the blurb about his shoulder injury. Also…if it were up to you, do you draft from HS or college?
I think I’d prefer a position player.

So I assume he’s winning a lot this year? Or is he a winner like Charlie Sheen is a winner?

Rendon is the top player. I guess some teams are concerned about his injury. Personally, I don’t give a fuck.
The value this year is in college picks. Every team before CHC could pick a college player and there would still be a good value pick at No. 9. I like Dylan Bundy over several college arms, but I’m hoping he goes to college.
New filler.
