Well Smart Guy was trying to appeal to Beer Guy’s sense of “Winning right now is fun” but it is pretty obvious that Demp will be traded, so the traditional Cubs fan would still have to see the negative side of that (might not be winning now as much). Also, he is apparently some kind of moonshine expert, which I thought fit the character.

I read your comment last thread and I actually agree to some extent (wins aren’t as valuable to the Cubs because of their place in the standing), but for the sake of simplicity I implied otherwise. Starlin Castro isn’t worth much to the Cubs right now because they suck and by the time they’re good he’ll be making big bucks. I’m not going to trade him for what he’s worth to the Cubs. In fact, I’d trade Castro, but only for more than he’s worth.
