@ uncle dave:
The ’50s was certain communism would come from the least likely place.
But Bolivia currently has a president who is considered to be very far left–Evo Morales. I was assuming that was what Josh was referring to, rather than the anonymity of Bolivia.
@ Rice Cube:
Well Smart Guy was trying to appeal to Beer Guy’s sense of “Winning right now is fun” but it is pretty obvious that Demp will be traded, so the traditional Cubs fan would still have to see the negative side of that (might not be winning now as much). Also, he is apparently some kind of moonshine expert, which I thought fit the character.
I read your comment last thread and I actually agree to some extent (wins aren’t as valuable to the Cubs because of their place in the standing), but for the sake of simplicity I implied otherwise. Starlin Castro isn’t worth much to the Cubs right now because they suck and by the time they’re good he’ll be making big bucks. I’m not going to trade him for what he’s worth to the Cubs. In fact, I’d trade Castro, but only for more than he’s worth.
I live in Denver and someone called into the local sports show in the morning who was there and said the shooter knocked on the direct exit door to the outside they usually have in the front of the theater room, and someone let him in.
@ mb21:
I don’t know anything about the minor leaguers, but there’s no real standout among the MLB players. Looks like a few league average players for other league average players
happ is having a decent season, periph-wise. the bigger question is how will those two teams be able to field rosters for the next week with ten players and a border crossing involved.
@ mb21:
Seems a little optimistic. I mean that in terms of value. He hasn’t been that great with the Brewers. Very good, but not like he was with the Royals.
Posted some TDKR thoughts in the reaction thread. It’s actually mostly spoiler free, so if you want to know what I thought without it being ruined, check it out.
@ Rice Cube:
Don’t ya know, they roid up Canadian kids when they are under 1 with that socialist medicine so they get all the rage out of them so they can grow up to be even tempered maple syrup chuggers?
Unrelated note: Bolivia was where Che Guevera was captured and shot during a communist uprising.
Josh is off to bed motherfuckers.

Beer Guy and Smart Guy have somehow switched roles…
@ Rice Cube:
That’s kind of what I thought too.
@ Rice Cube:
Keep drinking and it’ll happen to you, too.

I wouldn’t want anyone to fade into Bolivian.

Also I was half asleep.

I thought, vaguely, that Bolivia had some communism going in it. My brain is sometimes smarter than I am.
Someone gave away the ending, I take it?

It’s days like this, when shit like Colorado happen, where all I can say is what the fuck is wrong with society? Seriously, what the fuck?
This is unreal. One of the victims had narrowly escaped another shooting in Toronto in June.

Paterno statue ———-> coming down this weekend
@ mb21:
Such a bizarre trade. Mediocre players for other mediocre players and some meh prospects
@ Berselius:
Yeah, that was kind of what I was thinking.
Can we get tap a talk?

That's terrible. I couldn't even imagine going through that.

Both teams are suspending play until a better means of transportation is invented.
The Brewers reportedly offered Greinke $100 million plus for 5 years recently.
