The Yankees are everything I want the Cubs to be. The Yankees win. All the time. If they can’t draft or develope the best players in the game, they go out and sign them. And then they win some more. I admire the way they do business.
@ WaLi:
SK’s OCD kicked in and decided that he needed to change fonts and other formatting issues, from what I can see. (dying laughing) Looks nice though. I like the Race to the Top font. Sort of Old Timey baseball classic.
@ WaLi:
I missed that. Apparently SK’s OCD did too, since in L-W it should be 4-6. We probably shouldn’t mention it anymore though, because we don’t want to make him so upset with himself that he starts jabbing toothpicks under his fingernails.
I wonder if the Cubs might get a competitive balance pick from Detroit in a package for Garza or Dempster. See here.. It would be after the 2nd round if I read that right. Tradable draft picks in another new component of the CBA that hasn’t really been in the discussion so far, unless I missed it. Possibly the Rays or Pirates could go that way too. Soto to Rays for a CB pick?
@ Chet Masterson:
I’m not sure I want to think about Shark and Garza riding each other, but in honor of Shark’s start tonight and recent-ish developments here on OV, there’s this:
@ mb21:
If F7 ends the year at 13-10 with a 4.2 ERA, you might be the most sharkbitten, MB, so the survival kit is either mostly for you, or for everyone else if he ends up 7-15, 5.75. (dying laughing).
“…acrost Lake Michigan” (dying laughing)
exactly how i feel right now. good one, josh.
God a’mighty, if I was a Yankees fan I could live so easy.
@ Suburban kid:
ditto
This is how I feel about 2008. Hard to believe it was only 4 years ago.
We should try to incorporate the Hope Monster into our banner if Josh approves.
@ Edwin:
They’re my favorite AL team. I usually end up rooting for them long before the season ends thanks the Cubs sucking all the time.
Rosenhack with another hacktastic article about Z. Not linking it though.
@ mb21:
Yeah, that’s fine. I have original svg files if that helps, or pngs with no background. Let me know.
@ EnricoPallazzo:
Thanks.
@ josh:
Thanks. AC usually does our banner work so let me see what he’ll need.
@ Mish:
The media here can’t leave the guy alone even when he isn’t playing. Bizarre behavior.
@ Mercurial Outfielder:
For Rosenbloom, Sullivan et al, Z articles basically write themselves.
@ Mercurial Outfielder:
He could get bumped up and pitch on short rest. We gotta prime the fires just in case.

I was bored

@ Suburban kid:
Am I missing something or is it the same as the one at the footer except with the L-W backwards?
@ WaLi:
SK’s OCD kicked in and decided that he needed to change fonts and other formatting issues, from what I can see. (dying laughing) Looks nice though. I like the Race to the Top font. Sort of Old Timey baseball classic.
And the L and W are always backward.
@ SVB:
Yeah but his says 6-4 for Cubs, the one below says 4-6.
@ Mish:
I figure it was just a matter of Ctrl-V and a find and replace to change Cuey’s name to Ozzie’s

Josh, would you mind sending me the svg and png files you have?
Sorry to steal your thunder, SK.
Cryptic dirty talk from Jeff Samardzija on the current state of Cubs pitching.

Toothpicks are better than suicide.
@ SVB:
I do love Cayenne.
@ Mish:
I guess I know the answer already, but was this article full of substance or just the usual “Z is a prick” job?
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/07/competitive-balance-lottery-takes-place-today.html
Competitive balance lottery today, picks tradeable…but you probably knew that already.
