I posted the code in, but it stripped out the HTML style tags and just left the style code as text at the top. So I don’t know why that happened. We’re still doing the contest, right?
@ Berselius:
I wonder if that’s because I only have author privileges or something. Like how admins can post in the real Twitter box and the rest of us get the quote box.
<style type=”text/css”>
#reminder {
background: #BECDC6;
padding: 6px;
font-size: 12px;
margin: 0px 12px 8px 12px;
}
</style>

@ josh:
I think I can make the necessary changes tonight. I’m pretty sure you just have to add the tags you want people to be able to add to a certain file.
I’m kind of limited in what I can do at the moment so I was hoping someone could tell me what html tags are being stripped from the twitter embeds in the comment?
Cubs lose 3-2 today. Travis Wood pitched well enough to win, but it was not good enough as he takes the loss giving up 3 runs in 7 innings— WorldSeriesDreaming (@Anno_Catuli_WSD) August 22, 2012

@ josh:
Yeah, the script is one of the tags we definitely don’t want to enable for all users and there’s not a way to enable certain tags for specific user levels. I see no reason we can’t enable the style tag though.
Turns out the Cubs have been pretty average in that department over the whole season, but Brett and Josh were only called up recently. That changes everything.
Hey mb, is it possible to post all the submissions (anonymously of course), or at least the top 20 so we can get a look at the various attempts? There might be a diamond in the rough or two.

Nvmd, I’m an idiot. DERP!
@ josh:
The deadline was over the weekend, so it’s over now. In the future you need to paste raw html code in the html tab in the editor
Speaking of which we’ve selected the finalists, and should be revealing the results soon.
@ Berselius:
That’s what I did, but it stripped out the style tags.
@ Berselius:
I wonder if that’s because I only have author privileges or something. Like how admins can post in the real Twitter box and the rest of us get the quote box.
It literally looked like this:
#reminder {
background: #BECDC6;
padding: 6px;
font-size: 12px;
margin: 0px 12px 8px 12px;
}
Contest reminder: Don’t forget to enter our contest to win The Essential Games of the Chicago Cubs DVD set. It runs through Sunday, August 19.
@ josh:
You need to send each of us a quart of blood from your firstborn to get admin privleges.
I pasted in this:
<style type=”text/css”>
#reminder {
background: #BECDC6;
padding: 6px;
font-size: 12px;
margin: 0px 12px 8px 12px;
}
</style>

@ Berselius:
But he’s just a little guy! I don’t think he can stand to lose a quart.
@ josh:
Were you able to do it before? We are done with it right now, but I’m still curious if the author level can add such code.
(dying laughing) putting a good spin on this team will take years of practice. Well done, Josh.
Keith just said the Cubs have 36Ks for the series. Wow. Does it seem like they’re just getting worse, or is that my imagination?
@ josh:
I think I can make the necessary changes tonight. I’m pretty sure you just have to add the tags you want people to be able to add to a certain file.
@ mb21:
I can’t remember. I think I forgot both times I posted within the contest timeframe.
I’m kind of limited in what I can do at the moment so I was hoping someone could tell me what html tags are being stripped from the twitter embeds in the comment?
Test:
Will the Cubs lose 105 games?
@ josh:
Just write the text of the tags without including the carrots. Like div tag or blockquote tag.
It changed
<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet”><p>Cubs lose 3-2 today. Cubs sweep!
Took out the script and the class. The script is probably a call to the css or something that makes it look all twittery.
@ mb21:
I converted them to greater than and less than tags, like a boss.
@ josh:
Yeah, the script is one of the tags we definitely don’t want to enable for all users and there’s not a way to enable certain tags for specific user levels. I see no reason we can’t enable the style tag though.
@ mb21:
Right, yeah, that could be bad.
@ josh:
Cubs win
@ Berselius:
too lazy to look it up, but does anybody know how many times they’ve been swept this year?
@ mb21:
As far as I can remember, they’ve been swept in every series.
This team really could break the record. They’re not good. They’re really not good.
@ Suburban kid:
good thing WSD just posted, because I wasn’t even really paying attention to the tweet; I just grabbed the first one.
Cubs struck out 12 times yesterday and 13 times today. Cubs hitters suck at the level of just putting the bat on the baseball.
Turns out the Cubs have been pretty average in that department over the whole season, but Brett and Josh were only called up recently. That changes everything.
@ Rizzo the Rat:
At what point do central division pitchers’ stats become unreliable due to facing the Iowa Cubs so often?
Hey mb, is it possible to post all the submissions (anonymously of course), or at least the top 20 so we can get a look at the various attempts? There might be a diamond in the rough or two.
@ Suburban kid:
Between the Cubs’ and Astros’ offenses, you probably have to do some serious adjusting.
2013 Cubs: Legitimately Awful, Shut the Whole Thing Down
@ Mobile Rodrigo:
We’re decades from that technology here.
@ Mobile Rodrigo:
424 said we should do that and we always do what he says. I think we are also going to list our top picks too
@ mb21:
If you had enough you could’ve set up a NCAA-style bracket.
@ mb21:
That’s a great idea.
I look forward to reading.

@ Rizzo the Rat:

I think this is free: Aaron Cook striking out Mike Trout.
