A Real Game Tonight

In Game Threads by dmick8978 Comments

The Cardinals begin defense of their championship tonight by helping the newly named Miami Marlins open their new stadium. Kyle Lohse gets the ball for the Cardinals while Josh Johnson goes for the Marlins. The Cardinals also play their first game in a decade without Albert Pujols on the roster. Despite that loss, the projections still expect the Cardinals to contend for the division title.

What the shit? I had no idea there were so many posts in the forum. For some reason I thought it would only last a day and didn’t bother to go back.

Oh man, I wasn’t going to believe it until I could see a regular season game, but….. MLB.TV thinks I paid for this season but I haven’t. I don’t like to steal, but if you are going to give me something, I’m going to take it. Woo!

    @ Suburban kid:
It’s on ESPN and espn3.com anyway.
incidentally, I haven’t paid for my Baseball Prospectus subscription for over a year, but I still get all the content.

    @ ACT:
Maybe so, I’m just happy my MLB.TV account works on a regular season game. Unless this is one of them “free” games they do….

(dying laughing) ACT you edited your comment so now my reply makes no sense.

    Anyway, cheers to incompetence…

Tom Ricketts will be on WSCR tomorrow at 7:30 AM CST to speak about the money for Wrigley renovations. It can be streamed live at 670thescore.com, or the podcast can be downloaded from that same site shortly after the interview.

I hope MGL didn’t hear the part where they discussed Ozzie’s baserunning philosophy. He’d probably die of a heart attack.

MLB.com is screwing over their best customers, SK. You should be ashamed.

    @ GBTS:
I’m normally not one to say so, but it really looked like a pretty half-assed effort from both of them.

One last comment before I go.

If you stare at the superfriends image below long enough, everyone turns into either a Longneck, Shortneck or a Normalneck. It’s pretty creepy.

That homerun thing looks like those folders girls used to have in middle school.

The look of this ballpark gets old fast. It looks like Steve Zissou and Liberace founded a design firm and this was their first project.

I like what I’ve seen of the ballpark. Small disclaimer though, I’m colorblind (dying laughing)

My only big complaint is the colors on the M logo. My wife pointed out that it looks more Southwestern than Miami-y

Comment from Ryno on last year’s opening day preview

If we weren’t running the WCO next year, I’d love to take Kaepernick. I think he’s a better prospect than Newton.

    oops.
